The Tauric Belt artifact component from Ebberon has a listed stat increase of +4 STR and +2 CON, but it also increases your size category by 1

Now, its size increase entry explicitly states "Other effects of size -AC/attack modifier, grapple check modifier, and so forth- all apply"

In addition to the AC/attack/grapple/hide/reach stats from here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/movementPositionAndDistance.htm#tableCreatureSizeA ndScale), doesn't this mean that you increase its STR/CON and decrease the DEX etc. as per the SRD size increase table (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/improvingMonsters.htm#sizeIncreases)? How much is "and so forth" meant to cover when it states that "Other effects of size all apply"?

To my understanding, the particular wording of this artifact is the same style as the wording of the Half-Minotaur template, which has racial STR/CON boosts but specifically states that you gain all effects of the size increase too (The template even goes so far as to mention the specific table in MMI)

1. No. unless it very specifically says otherwise (as half-minotaur does indeed do), that table is only for size increases from advancing by HD, not any other form of size increase.
2."and so forth", in this context, is indicating that other things directly related to size are effected. So those who try to Grapple or Swallow you need to be bigger, you take a penalty to Hide checks, you get a bonus to some combat checks based on size (grapple, overun, bull rush, trip, ect.). That advancement table is not an effect of size (as a creature that started at it's present size would never have used it), but the Size and Scale table is.

True, a creature that starts at that size does not have to use that table, but the Half-Minotaur template refers to the table because you increase in size. Similarly, by wearing the Tauric Belt and activating it, you increase in size. An effect like Enlarge Person or Expansion directly specifies the limited bonuses and penalties you gain from the size increase, with neither mentioning "Other effects of size all apply" or any similarly open statement.

The two tables listed aren't even completely separate. Both of them contain the same progression of AC/attack penalties based on size
