I am talking about military people who operate in outer space with cool looking spaceships. Commander Shepard, Captain Sheridan, Kirk and Picard, Honor Harrington, Master Chief John-117, Jack "Black Jack" Geary, Poe Dameron, Wedge Antilles, Starbuck, etc.

Partly, it just comes with the territory. Take Wedge, for example--you have to be pretty badass to begin with to be a fighter pilot for a rebellion against a galactic empire.

And partly, of course, it's just dramatic convention. Unless you're dealing with a work that's supposed to be comical or satirical, you're not going to get any focus on a character in such a role that is a coward, or a screw-up, or otherwise not a badass in some way.

I don't think any of the guys you listed are ba. Although, masterchief is.. but then. He doesn't pilot a plane.

Freedom, power projection, bravery, an implied generosity, handsomeness, virility, a sense of roguishness to some of them, probable loyalty, and a well-favoured (lucky) look (otherwise known as script immunity).

Are you actually asking this, or are you just projecting your love of sci-fi again? Judging by the fact that you chose not to try to clarify on the vague initial question, and instead just posted a bunch of pictures, I'm going with the second option.

Current consensus is that the OP is a bot, but there isn't a rule blocking bots, just for spamming or being disruptive, so they're still around and posting.

This almost makes me want to make a bot that seeks out edition war threads. To participate calmly and politely.

I'm not sure if this is evil.

Wait, I thought that was a different one.

No, it's this one isn't it.
