Legends tell of love potions and draughts, but rarely do they result in actual love. Fairy Wine is different. When two people share it, it creates a nigh-unbreakable bond between them. The wine itself is clear as morning dew and seems to sparkle with a supernatural light. It is made from unique, Druid-tended berries, brewed by Nymphs and Dryads on the night of a Blue Moon. It is jealously guarded by those who make it, and aquiring it is no small task. Each flask of Fairy Wine contains enough liquid to be consumed by two creatures, regardless of their size. Fairy Wine may be mixed with non-magical liquids with no effect on the wine. Mixing it with magical liquids of any sort destroys the usefullness of both the wine and the other magical liquid. It takes a Lore (DC 15) check to sucessfully identify Fairy Wine for what it is. Druids, Nymphs and Dryads require no check.

Fairy Wine must be consumed by two creatures of a "compatable" type (see list) within 1 round of eachother. If the wine is consumed by two creatures of incompatable types, or not consumed within the time limit, then there is no effect on either creature. Upon sucessfully consuming the wine, each creature is treated as "charmed" by and in love with the other; no saving throws allowed. The charm effect lasts indeffinately, and it takes a "Wish" or "Miracle" spell to dispell the effect. However, both parties will do anything in their power to prevent the effects from being dispelled, unless they are able to be convinced otherwise (DC 45). Any intelligence points gained are lost when the effects of the wine are dispelled.

Moderate enchantment; CL 5; Unique Druid-tended berries; Craft Wondrous Item, Empower Spell, Permanency, Charm Monster; Price 30,000 gp.
Special: Brewing of the wine must begin on the night of a Blue Moon.
Varient: For an extra 5,000 gp and five days, the brewer may cast Telepathic Bond in addition to Permanency and Charm Monster to create a empathetic link between the couple which drinks the Fairy Wine, as between a Wizard/Sorcerer and their familiar.

Ahhhh, that is so sweet. But nobody who truly believes that they are in love would ever drink it.

This would have more use in being consumed by a couple in a forced/arranged marriage. eg, a marriage of a prince to a princess of a warring nation to bring peace. The two of them realize that they need to stay married in order to keep their two nations at peace, so they drink this whine in order to make the marriage last.

What would be really appealing is if the whine created an empathic bond between the two, so that way, the other always knows how the other always feels, no matter what distance is between them.

Well, that's where I got the idea from, actually. A version of the legend of Tristan and Iseult ;3

I suppose that would be possible... Maybe if the brewer decided to add the quality while making it. I'll add that as a varient.

I take it "warforged" is/are a type of construct? If it has free will, I might make an exception for it... But I'd need more information first.

They are "Living constructs",
-they have Con scores,
-no extra vision,
-not immune to anything mind-effecting,
-yes immune to poison, sleep, paralysis, disease, nausea, fatigue, exhaustion, and energy drain,
-cannot heal naturally,
-subject to sneak attacks, stunning, non-leathal damage, death effects, necromancy, ability damage and drain, crits, stuff that takes a Fort Save, death from massive damage
-Doesn't sleep
-Doesn't need to eat/drink, but still benefits from potions and such
-Is healed by both the Cure Spells, and the repair spells, hurt by spells like Harm
-Can be Raised and Ressed
-Does not take extra damage while dying, and can take some actions without fear of taking more damage, makes being at 0 hp easier and more fun.

Probably would be subject to Fairy Wine, since they can consume things, and they can be subject to Charm Effects and the like.

I'll edit it to include that subtype, then. Thanks for the info!

So wait, Constructs, Vermin & Undead are subject to this love draught, but Oozes are the only type that's exempt? Wierd.

I think Oozes are Exempt because they dont eat. They absorb.

Still. Undead is a bit of a stretch. We're talking about undead with free will, right?

Vampires and... Any other undead that has free will, pretty much. So possibly Wights, Gouls/Ghasts, Mummies and the like.

Also creatures with the "living construct" subtype are the only constructs allowed, which I assume is a relatively small ammount.

Oozes are exempt because none have any bit of intelligence or free will. Some Vermin and Plants have intelligence, just like some Undead and Constructs have free will, but I don't know of an intelligent OR free-willed Ooze.

What about an Awakened Ooze? Would that count?

Or anything else that was Awakened?

Can oozes even be awakened? :smallconfused: I suppose if it was house-ruled in or something, then I guess it would be possible...

As for other creatures (animals and plants, as per the spell description) being awakened, they automatically change to "Magical Beast"s for animals, and gain the "Plant" type if a plant.
