i'm wondering if anywhere out thier someone has done rules for the final fantasy series in d20 or even it's own system. Idealy it would be for FF 2, 3 or 7. Anyone who can help me i thank you in advance

I know I got bored once and did some rules for materia from FF7 but that's as far as I got.

I think Magic Item Copendium has some rules similar for enhancement stones or something.

I believe the Final Fantasy roleplaying system is called "The Returners".

Ah, here we are. (http://www.returnergames.com/)

You stole my post.

I believe the correct term hereabouts is that I "ninja'd" your post :smalltongue:

I've seen a d20 homebrew for FFT, but other than that, I haven't seen anything.

D20 does a crap job even for what it's meant to be (heroic high fantasy), why would it be good for Final Fantasy?

The Returners are decent, but not very good. You lack options when it comes to advancement - all, for example, Archers at the same level are virtually the same.

SELF-PROMOTION ALERT!

A system that simulates the FF games quite well, but is not completely finished yet, can be found on these very boards (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44150), created by yours truly. I even run a PBP game on these boards.

The problem with the returners is that they 1) try to amalgamate every Final Fantasy into a single rules concept, 2)occasionally include elements of other squeenix games that aren't Final Fantasy 3) less frequently but still occasionally include elements of anime or japanese popular culture in general

There was an (unfinished as far as I'm aware) d20 conversion of Final Fantasy Tactics that looked pretty interesting.
anyway a google search turned up some homebrew projects: http://boards1.wizards.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-471298.html

You could play a game that uses Magic of Incarnum and Tome of Battle. Just change soulmelds to materia.

honestly what i want are some of the class's that ff had, i've seen the dragoon on the homebrew forum but i was also hoping for others. i know that FF doesn't translate well to d&d terms but i was hoping that somwhere out there i could find a fanboy like me who loved ff 2 and 3. anyway, i'm gonna go check out the returners website. Thanks everyone for your advice so far

I'm actually working on a Blue Mage base class. :V

Of all the classes to pick, I had to pick the hardest one to implement. :smallsigh:

I'll probably do more after it, too. Maybe the FFX-2 Beserker or something. (Despite all its flaws, the classes in there are easy to adapt.) Maybe even an FFT Oracle. I like them.
