For the record, I am using this soulknife feat for the purposes of this post: http://dsp-d20-srd.wikidot.com/shape-mind-blade.

First, if the character in question was proficient with it's natural attacks, could it form "fighting claws" or "gloves" to cover it's hands for the purpose of striking a target and getting the full benefits of the mind blade?

Second, how would one become specifically proficient with it's natural attack in the first place?

The idea is to create an unarmed soulknife while still gaining full benefit of the mind blade class feature.

Is this 3.5 or PF? If it's PF, there's an entire archetype (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/classes/soulknife/archetypes/dreamscarred-press/deadly-fist) for an unarmed Soulknife.

O.O
There is?!
Looking now!

That would be pf/d20

Yep. That archetype is perfect. Used in conjunction with this (http://dsp-d20-srd.wikidot.com/shape-mind-blade) makes for an unarmed character I actually want to play!

If you're using 3.5, make sure your GM approves you using the Pathfinder Soulknife (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/classes/soulknife), which this archetype modifies. It's a Soulknife that is a vast improvement over the slightly flawed 3.5 class. Also, note that everything you want from that 3.5 feat is already part of the PF Soulknife: it was written into the class. (DSP, the company that wrote that feat, also wrote the PF Soulknife.)

Yeah. Normally saying that "So-and-so wrote the book on <subject>" is hyperbole, but Dreamscarred Press really did write the book (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/124281/Ultimate-Psionics) on psionics. It's for Pathfinder, but it can be back-ported to 3.5 easily enough. Also, all the info is free to use at the pfsrd (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed).
