When PoW - Expanded was in beta, I remember reading that the non martial classes archetypes http://www.d20pfsrd.com/path-of-war/classes/archetypes-for-non-martial-classes capped out at level 6 moves known, but could take a feat to learn level 7+ moves and stances if their level was twice that of the move desired. However I dont see any information on this in system and use, or anywhere else. Was this a thing that got removed, or is it stuck someplace that I just overlooked?

It's still there. Since the cap of Level 6 Maneuvers only applies to those granted by the archetype, Maneuvers/Stances gained from another source such as the feat Advanced Study (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/path-of-war/feats#TOC-Advanced-Study-Combat-) are not limited to the same restriction. You still however need to meet the level requirement for the maneuver's level found here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/path-of-war/systems-and-use) and the specific maneuver's prerequisites listed in its entry.

This was also brought up with the developers who had the following to say about it.

The current RAW permits them to learn 7th-and-higher maneuvers through Advanced Study. IIRC this technically also works with Martial Training. We're okay with this.

Prestige classes also let you get higher-level maneuvers, though most of them limit what disciplines you can choose from.
