During one of our gaming sessions our party came across some kobolds (tiny) on some roofs in a village. Our human rogue was facing away from them when attacked by a magic middle. The setting is a full moon dim vision at night. When the rogue turned around he was 20 feet away from the kobold on dim vision. My question is should he been able to see the kobold or would he need to spend his combat action trying to find him when it's 20 feet away in a straight line no obstructions??

So to confirm Kobold's on roof, attacked the Rogue who then turned around, they are 20ft apart in dim lighting and the Kobolds cannot hide as no obstructions.
yeah the Rogue should see them.
