Ahead you see a yellow humanoid being that has something shimmering on its forehead. The shimmering disappears as you draw closer and it lets out a roar.
Regolith golems are cheap budget choices for those that live in the desert. They are often used as city night guards in places where the night drops below freezing.
A regolith golem stands about 6 feet tall and weighs 150 lbs. As golems they understand the language of their creator (usually Common).
COMBAT
As golems, they can fight in a number of ways, depending if their creator is present to issue orders. If the creator is not their and it is not told to attack in any specific way, they wade into melee with their fists (a punch from which feels like bronze covered in sandpaper.
Sand in the wound (Ex): If a regolith golem hits with a slam attack it can release sand particles that get into the wounds. The target must succeed on a Fortitude Save (DC10+damage dealt) or take -2 on all attack rolls and skill checks for the next 10 minutes.
This doesn't affect creatures without a constitution score (e.g constructs, undead), creatures not classed as living (e.g elementals, outsiders) or creatures that don't have blood to speak of (e.g plants, some abberations).
Glassy Fist (Ex): The pieces of glass and sharp rocks embedded in a regolith golem’s fist mean two things; firstly a regolith golem’s slam attacks are treated as bludgeoning and piercing weapons. Second, each successful slam attack deals an extra 1d6 damage.
Immunity to magic (Su): A regolith golem is immune to any spell or spell-like abilities that allows spell resistance. In addition, certain spells and effects function differently against the creature, as noted below.
An attack that deals electricity damage heals a regolith golem of 1 hit point for every three damage it would otherwise deal.
An attack that deals fire damage reduces the golem’s natural amour bonus to +0, reduces it’s speed to 15ft and its attacks deal an extra 1d6 points of fire damage for 5 rounds. At the end of 5 rounds it has a 50% chance of becoming a glass golem (coming soon)
Any spells that manipulate earth(e.g earthquake) blow the golem back 120 ft.
Any spells that manipulate sand heal the golem to its hull normal hit points.
Gem of Animation (Su): A regolith golem is animated by a gem sealed inside the creature’s chest. Any critical hit pierces the golem’s and instantly kills it. The gem could be anything chosen at the time of creation, but if the golem is destroyed by this method the gem melts and becomes worthless.
Skills: In desert areas a regolith golem’s Hide Bonus becomes +8.
