Stupid question and I can't seem to see the wood for the trees.

I have a Wisdom of 11 (+0), and proficiency in Survival.

My proficiency is +2.

Does that mean that when I do. Survival Check I roll 1d20 or 1d20+2?

1D20+2, you add proficiency to any roll in a skill you are proficient with

Yep 1d20+2. We do have a quick RAW Q&A thread, you know.

Also, in the strict sense it's a Wisdom (Survival) check. This distinction is mostly meaningful when referencing other rules.

To be overly precise, you roll 1d20+0+2.

I usually add +0+0+0 to account for wind speed, lunar precession and the feeble attempts of jungle cults to curse the party from the other side of the world.

Um, no objection from me either (I think usually you wouldn't need to ask permission assuming the quotes would be attributed, so 99% blanket permission to quote me granted, except if I go into drunken ranting on personal matters, ask me then. N-not that I would).
