So, 11th level wizard BBG is going to cast Antimagic Field at some point.
What spells can he cast, before AMF, that will survive the AMF? Realizing things like Mage Armor, Blur, Mirror Image, etc won't, are there any 'instantaneous' buff that will?

All the spells will survive but be suppressed. Instantaneous buffs don't really exist outside very few exceptions (Mantle of the Fiery Spirit [Sandstorm] and Hide Life[Tome and Blood] off the top of my head) - and the ones that do exist only ever need to be cast once, with no regard for the intention of casting Antimagic Field. Generally Antimagic Field is used if the user can ignore its effect (due to having Initiate of Mystra, it being Selective Spell AMF or using e.g. Archmage or Extraordinary Spell Aim to negate the spell's effect on one's own square, though that costs the personal antispell protection as well) or when one can cast it elsewhere (e.g. Arcane Archer's "Imbue Arrow" ability).

Though sometimes it can work personally to negate a number of enemy's contingencies if you're sure the enemy isn't protected from it somehow - it's quite problematic if the enemy isn't immediately defeated since a normal AMF costs you most of your possible defenses and makes it nigh' impossible to defend yourself actively with spells after the fact.
