Is there anyway outside of hombrew that would allow me to use sword beams in pathfinder? I normally play as the party paladin so its better if I can do it as a paladin for HOLY SWORD BEAMS! The earlier level I can do this the better since we normally play games around level 5ish. I cannot count on specific items being in campaigns. we normally play with the DM very rarely dropping magic items, so I would prefer if It could be done with feats and or spells. thank you.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with Spheres of Power, but the Warrior of Holy Light (http://spheresofpower.wikidot.com/warrior-of-holy-light) archetype for the Mageknight seems pretty much what you want.

OK that looks pretty cool, but im not really familiar with the spheres of power. how exactly will I be able to sword beam things?

Any reason you can't just refluff any offensive paladin spells as these?

I am fine with re fluffing things if I have to, but I would like to have specific examples of good paladin spells that would work for that, but I would prefer some way to do my attacks at ranged with my sword somehow though.

Sharding (http://archivesofnethys.com/MagicWeaponsDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Sharding) weapon is the simplest way to do actual swordbeams, but it is too expensive for your level even if specific enchantments are an option.
Paladins have an archetype (http://archivesofnethys.com/ArchetypeDisplay.aspx?FixedName=Paladin Mind Sword) for literally attacking at range with a melee weapon, but the tradeoff is harsh.

As with most things that are awesome, Path of War can do this. Allow me to suggest Mithral Current (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/path-of-war/disciplines-and-maneuvers/mithral-current-maneuvers) for your needs, specifically the "wave" maneuvers.

thank you guys for all the replies so far. the mindblade archetype is cool, but the price is too great. I dont want to give up on lay on hands. the sharding weapon quality seems like a great way of doing it, but counting on specific magic items in the campaigns I play in are not likely. the mithral current maneuver thing seems cool, but more use with a katana sadly with the draw bonuses. I am the type of person who uses a bastard sword most of the time. its cool and ill probably use it for a different character. If you guys can think of any other ways to sword beam things to death that would be great:smallsmile:

It doesn't require a katana at all. It specifically works with any melee weapon. All you really need is Quick Draw and Mixed Combat. I should know, I wrote it :smalltongue:
