View Full Version : Using Tiefling Crunch to fluff a Satyr PC race

I am working on a campaign for a very fey oriented adventure. The party already has a forest gnome, firbolg, and a couple of elves. I have a final player who is really interested in the fey concept we are building around, but wants to play a satyr.

I realized the tiefling (straight phb version) is pretty much what I would do for a satyr, but obviously shifting the infernal descriptors to fey.

I was wondering what everyone else thought of the idea. Should I switch out the spells given by the infernal legacy trait? (if so to what) Should I swap out a feature for something more fey?

Eh, I'd personally build something else from the ground up. I couldn't imagine, for example, a Satyr race without some sort of musical instrument proficiency. And, although they are fey, I see them as being more like Elves where they're not actually inherently magical spellcasters or anything, just most folks might think that since they favor the Bard class.

Using the SCAG Tiefling options, Silver Tongue would be a good swap for the infernal legacy spells. Change fire damage resistance to the elf's Fey Ancestry trait (except maybe drop the sleep immunity), and you should be good.
Moving the +1 from Int to Dex might be appropriate.
