I need someone to walk me through this, step by step. I need to know how to turn an inkskape file into a gif, jpeg, anything that photobucket accepts. I do have GIMP

Ok,
1) save your image.
2) file => export bitmap
3)export either the page, the drawing or whatever is selected.

Voila! You have one .png with transparency that can be uploaded onto photobucket.

when I do that, it comes out all pixelly--much worse than MS paint

Really? It's never done that to me.

I did that method on this.

Can you show me the end product, in all its pixelated glory?

Hmmm... I'm not familiar with Inkscape, so I'm just guessing here -- how does the size of the exported file (on the screen when viewed at the default "100%" size) compare with that of the original (ditto)?

Well, when you export images in Inkscape, they export as PNG. Photobucket supports this extension (seeing as all my current avatars are PNG format) and by default, have transparency, so there is little need to convert to GIF for transparency (unless you are still using Internet Explorer 6).

I know what I did now. i had the inkskape canvase 117x117. when I make it bigger, no pixel issues. Thanks, all! See what I drew?

And this is the closest I got...

easy. hit ctrl+shift+f, and you'll have the color thingy. (sorry about word choice) go to the stroke style tab, and it'll have line perferances: make the number next to 'width' bigger

Finally! Thnx!

EDIT: Why can't I paste images into Inkscape?
