Why did Haley shoot at Roy when he was falling?

she shot him so he would'nt fall out of reach if he fell out of reach and they could'nt get to him then all they were doing out there would have been for nothing.

The arrow pinned him to the rock wall. So, basically, he was falling into a chasm and she shot him in between the legs, and it went THROUGH his Trouser Titan and stuck into the wall behind him, holding him there. Then she got a rope around him and she and Belkar tugged him out.

Thankfully, a bit of rigormortis had set in already, otherwise his trouser titan would probably have just been sliced in two by his body weight.

It should also be noted that Haley wasn't specifically aiming for his nuts; that's just where she happened to hit him. I'm reasonably certain that Haley had no reason to suspect that Roy's genetalia would be his strongest part.
