Looking for a good character sheet. It absolutely has to be compatible with multiclassing, which basically means big boxes or text that shrinks to fit the box, and be fillable online/as a pdf. Ty.

I know this isn't what you're looking for exactly, but I'd like to point out that Microsoft Word makes super easy character sheets. Here's one I made in 20 minutes just by grabbing pictures off of google and making text boxes:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8LJtm6f6hWGNlR5NjdCS3dPR1E/view?usp=sharing

The benefit is that it's extremely multiclass friendly, the downside is it does take a little work and attention to aesthetics. But I've gone through this character sheet dance before and always ended up disappointed. I also don't have the skills to do anything more advanced. This was a happy middle ground.

I love and use morepurplemorebetter (http://www.dmsguild.com/browse.php?author=morepurplemorebetter)creations from DM's Guild.

It's pay what you want so you can put 0 go to the checkout and try it out and come back later to donate if you like it. He has a colour and printer friendly version along with some other stuff.

That is pretty sweet, nice work. Honestly though I think most people probably wont bother with that level of custom detail.

Can you share the original word doc I would like to have a look at how you set everything up.

Sure thing, once I get home. I don't have the .docx on my google drive.

Thing is, it requires Adobe Reader, which has a reputation for being slow, heavy and unsafe.

You are aware that there are a million other PDF readers available on the Internet that do the same job and do it faster and safer, right?

IIRC, this pdf specifically requires Adobe Reader. D:

Well the other character generator/sheets I was using was ForgedAnvils (http://www.enworld.org/forum/rpgdownloads.php?do=download&downloadid=1234)work over on ENworld, requires Excell to work 100% but I was using it with LibreOffice without too many bugs.

The sheet looks absolutely amazing.

But man, your stats are terrible. :smalltongue:

Yeah, that was my choice. I decided to make this character with 4d6 drop lowest, in order, no rerolls. It was a good opportunity to do so because I have a large and diverse party who could cover my weak points.

Again, there are plenty of other PDF readers that will work. I run into files all the time that say they require it and they work just fine in my PDF reader. I probably haven't used Adobe reader since 2002.

You know, personally I don't use premade charactersheets. this might sound funny but hear me out.

I build my characters in the standard sheet of Mythweavers. Sure that is a character sheet of sorts, but when playing I hate to use a laptop so I always write the relevant details down on a sheet of paper with my trusty fountainpen (FP masterrace!) only to leave the highly variable stuff to pencil (like current HP, wealth, consumables, spellslots used, that sorta thing). I also have this tendency to fit everything (yes, including the spells) on that one sheet of paper. I also keep a set of sheets for notes (to later regale my tales on the internet).

Later when the dust has settled and I am home again I update the mythweavers version so all versions are current (thus keeping ot at least 3/2rds of the back-up rule: 3-2-2-1: 2 sheets, across 2 media, 1 of which is hardcopy).

I use this google docs based one (https://docs.google.com/previewtemplate?id=1qw3DMBK4OgF0jai8GDRtKKXZ8oZmzw wO8phXRD5nC1k&mode=public). It's pretty decent for multiclassing, although I do have to abbreviate pretty hard to fit some abilities in. Main benefit is that all of my characters are in the cloud so I can refer to them from any computer.

Oh, also you can set up the spreadsheet to calculate things as you level up. For example, the cantrips on my sheets automatically update their damage dice as I level up the character. If you're a little spreadsheet savvy you can do a lot with it.

What reader are you using, I have been trying to find an alternative that actually runs the Javascript properly.

Is there a way to download that? I was having a look but couldn't figure out if I can make a copy to use in libreoffice

Oh yes, for anyone who wanted the .docx, here it is (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8LJtm6f6hWGU2d2b05FU0VXN2M/view?usp=sharing). Keep in mind that different versions of Word might handle the exact alignments differently.

If you click "Use this Template" you'll see an empty version of the sheet as a Google Spreadsheet. Then you can click File -> Download as -> Whatever Format You Want. Note that I haven't actually tried this, I have no idea how reasonable it will look locally, and clearly the printing instructions are specific to Google Docs.
