I was searching around on the internet when I cam across this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/31juju/most_ridiculous_character_build_35/). In it, someone mentions turning a psion into an Imperial star destroyer from Star Wars. Can someone explain it please? I can't find it anywhere!

The Brightness build in my sig can handle the 'getting to space and staying there' part.

There's a trick to Mind Switch yourself into an inanimate object (see: "Psionic Sandwich" here (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=1187.0))-- basically, you have someone Polymorph Any Object an inanimate object into a living creature, (True) Mind Switch yourself into it, then dispel the PaO. Since psionics don't require any verbal or somatic components, the lack of limbs doesn't matter. The classic example is a sandwich, but the trick you linked to involves making a really scary inanimate object via assorted crafting rules first.

That post mentions using the psionic sandwich, construct, and spell trap rules. That means someone created an auto-resetting trap of some spells (disintegrate, maybe), and used true mind switch to transfer the psion's consciousness into said auto-resetting trap. For more advanced versions, embed multiple auto-resetting traps into a single construct, and put the psion in the construct. If the construct-with-traps is shaped like a star destroyer, that's a nice bonus.

Getting truly galactic range on a spell is very difficult without loops. You can, of course, wish for an auto-resetting trap of disintegrate at CL 30 856 775 800 000 000 (a range of 3 parsec and change), but that's fairly lame. You can get very high CL with hiveminds (see AvatarVecna's build here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=19299172&postcount=59)), or with psionic nanobots and metaconcert, or with something that I'm not thinking of right now, but it's not going to be as straightforward as "Psion Jumps Into Dinghy, Becomes Star Destroyer".

They might be referring to a (very) old post, that's probably lost to some forum crash or another. The old post had - through some truly breathtaking crafting rules abuse - showed how you could actually create a Star Destroyer (I think it was Victory-class, but I could be remembering that incorrectly).

EDIT: Found a reference to it here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-159332.html):

A while ago, a master CharOper named tsuyoshikentsu figured out how to craft a Victory Class Star Destroyer in about a week.

The Star Destroyer construction method is, I believe, outlined here (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=150.msg1246#msg1246).
