I came across this on 5e.d20.srd (http://5e.d20srd.org/srd/description.htm#exoticLanguages):

Exotic Languages
Language Typical Speakers
Abyssal Demons
Celestial Celestials
Draconic Dragons, dragonborn
Deep Speech Aboleths, chairs

I'd had no idea aboleths could converse with furniture!

(I know, it's supposed to read "Cloakers.")

I feel like it may be a joke about mimics =)

I feel like it may be a joke about mimics =)My first thought too, but then I checked the MM and 5e mimics do not know any language, except for a few who learn Common or Undercommon.

Also, they are considered monstrosities instead of aberrations. :smallannoyed:

I presume it was supposed to be Chuuls as they have deep speech. I prefer talking to chairs though.

Well, on open5e (https://open5e.com/characters/background.html#languages) they list Aboleths and cloakers

PHB lists Mind Flayers and Beholders, which I guess can't be mentioned in SRD thanks to product identity. Chair may be autocorrect of Chuul, good catch.
