Need Help choosing a weapon (Rethinking my choice )

so I plan to play A Myrmidon and I'm focusing on Trip and AoO
I was Thinking of using Fauchard but now i'm not sure if its worth the feat
I need a Reach weapon and since I use piercing thunder I Guess a type of spear would Be nice
I am Allowed to use weapons from both 3.5 and Pf

I just need some ideas cause the Dm is bestowing each player with a one of a kind weapon Tailored toward there own style
and he's open to suggestions

Glaive or Halberd. Wear gauntlets for melee punching if the need arised. Spiked chains are great but if yer worried about spending a feat.

Long story short I am looking for a good spear to use

How about the Duom from Dragon Compendium? It's a spear with built in ability to attack at 5 and 10 feet.
