Been looking in the SRD and in these forums for the range increment of these weapons (thrown splash weapons like Alchemist's Fire), but there doesn't seem to be any value listed. Are they just counted as improvised thrown weapons and thus have a range increment of 10 feet? (I have a boss monster that has a nasty surprise prepared for the PCs and it involves a thrown weapon)

I cant rememeber where I read it, but all improvised thrown weapons have a 10ft range. Have not got my books to hand but I think thats right, hope so thats how we have been playing it :smalleek:

Most splash weapons are not improvised. They are meant to be used as weapons. And the range of a particular splash weapon is given in the weapon's description.

"Acid: (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/goodsAndServices.html#acid) You can throw a flask of acid as a splash weapon. Treat this attack as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet. A direct hit deals 1d6 points of acid damage. Every creature within 5 feet of the point where the acid hits takes 1 point of acid damage from the splash."

"Alchemist's Fire: (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/goodsAndServices.html#alchemists-fire)Alchemist’s Fire: You can throw a flask of alchemist’s fire as a splash weapon. Treat this attack as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet...."

"Holy Water: (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/goodsAndServices.html#holy-water) Holy water damages undead creatures and evil outsiders almost as if it were acid. A flask of holy water can be thrown as a splash weapon. Treat this attack as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet. A flask breaks if thrown against the body of a corporeal creature, but to use it against an incorporeal creature, you must open the flask and pour the holy water out onto the target. Thus, you can douse an incorporeal creature with holy water only if you are adjacent to it. Doing so is a ranged touch attack that does not provoke attacks of opportunity."
(emphasis mine)

It is important to note that, although almost all splash weapons to date have a range increment of 10 feet that, the range increment is not inherent to splash weapons in general. A range increment is a property of each specific weapon, and one must be sure to read the description of each weapon to find out what that increment is.
