View Full Version : 3rd Ed Needing Some help from the all knowing Giants!

looking to make a powerful build as far as attacking. The DM has only allowed Classes from the players handbook but has also allowed any race to an extent (including Homebrew but he would have to look at it before allowing it) and i was just looking for suggestions as the base races are boring in my opinion and was just looking what you wise people have to help me with. Thanks in advance

All right, races sound like they're allowed generally, but classes only from the PHB. How does the DM feel about racial substitution levels? Goliath (from Races of Stone) Barbarian with Mountain Rage can be excellent for squashing things. Great stat adjustments for a melee combatant. The only thing that might turn you off is the +1 Level Adjustment.

Primordial Half-Giant Mineral Warrior.

Half-Giant (from the SRD): +2 Constitution, +2 Strength, -2 Dexterity. More (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/halfGiant.htm). LA +1

Half-Ogre (Races of Destiny): +6 Strength, –2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, –2 Intelligence,
–2 Charisma, Natural Armor +4, LA +2

Primordial: (Secrets of Xendrik) -4 Str, -2 Con, +4 Int, +4 Cha
Invisibility, Invisibility Purge, or Levitate at-will (CL = HD)
+1 CL to all spell-like abilities
Any one Knowledge skill as a class skill
+2 racial bonus to Spellcraft and Use Magic Device
LA +0

Mineral Warrior (Underdark) +2 Strength, +4 Con, -2 Int (minimum 1), -2 Wis, -2 Cha
DR 9/Adamantine, More (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20031003e). LA +1

Total: +4 Con, -2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Wis, +2 Cha
LA +2

Or leave out Primordial
+4 Str, +6 Con, -2 Dex, -2 Int, -2 Wis, -2 Cha

Primordial Half-Ogre Mineral Warrior:
+4 Str, +4 Con, -2 Dex, -2 Wis, Natural Armor +7, DR 9/Adamantine, LA +3

Leaving out Primordial...
