View Full Version : Sovereign Speaker Prestige Class... what domains can you really get?

The Sovereign Speaker Prestige Class (Faiths of Ebberon) is a neat concept. It is only 8/10 casting, but it gives a neat benefit:

Bonus Domain: For every level you take in this class, you gain a bonus domain offered by one of the deities of the Sovereign Host. You cannot choose more than two domains offered by the same deity (for example, if you already have the Strength and War domains, you can’t choose Good, since Dol Dorn offers all three).

My question is this... how does that overlap with the Domain choices you had before taking the Prestige Class?

For example, Aureon grants access to: Force, Knowledge, Law, Magic, Mind, Oracle, Spell.

If you're a Cloistered Cleric and start with the Knowledge, Force and Spell domains, you have technically already broken the rule for the class.

Or, do you ignore the domains you started with (You are required to have at least one domain before you can take the class) and just have to avoid taking more than two new domains from any one deity with the Bonus Domains you get from the class?

The domain class feature from Cleric is not the same class feature as the Bonus Domain feature from speaker. Track them independently. In your case you may select Magic, Mind, or Oracle, but only one of the three.
