Fusion is a 8th level Egoist power, and while it's cool, it's not really that great mechanically due to reduced action economy. There should be ways to utilize it somehow, though. Any ideas?

Its actually an 8th level power.

Also, a good use in it is to mix the Party Psion and Party tank so the Psion no longer has to worry of HP damage as much as he has both his and the tank's HP pool. Also it can save a character in dire need, if lets say the Psion is in 1 HP and someone else in the party is in full HP they can fuse so that any further damage is split between them for the rest of the fight so after the fight is over the party cleric can heal them then instead of healing them during the fight and using up his offensive/buffing actions.

Fusion to combine yourself with a creature. Astral seed while you're combined. Once your not fused anymore, kill self. Since astral seed revives you in "an exact duplicate of you body at the time you manifested astral seed", it duplicates you into the fused body. You know permanently have a body that's a combination of yours and someone else's. Combine with a friendly conjures to Call for creatures with useful abilities for taste.

Probably works by RAW but probably a bit cheesy for most DMs.

Babies! (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?435755-Astral-psi-babies-Does-this-work-(Added-super-psicrystals))

tl;dr - Use fusion to collect an arbitraty amount of traits, use astral seed, kill yourself, a new creature is born that is based on the body it had while fused. You may or may not be able to weasel out of actually dying (using fission, perhaps).

You can also use fusion to bring together feats and class features that combo very well but normally can't be found on one creature.

An elan psion can fuse with an unconscious enemy ethergaunt. Not looking any different, your enemies will never know what happened to their fallen leader.

Until you fail a Bluff check or the ethergaunt wakes up.

I dunno, there are probably some.

Until you fail a Bluff check or the ethergaunt wakes up.

The ethergaunt waking up won't save it - the manifester is in control of the fusion unless he wishes to relinquish control.

Since the fused being uses the better mental scores and skills of its members, it may be relatively easy to fake the knowledge of your usurped entity.

You really can't fail a Bluff check to look like you're not presently fused with the body of an ethergaunt. That's, like, the default assumption of D&D. Flickerdart got the 'waking up' part.

(n.b. you don't look like whatever you fused with, nor get any special bonus to Bluff or Disguise related to that creature, though you probably should)

As a psiforged you can fuse with your astral constructs (just about the only power for which it's worth taking expanded knowledge), turning that power into a solid buff. DM call on how the difference in durations interact, though.
