If you gave Battle Dancer (Dragon Compendium) maneuvers/stances, refresh mechanic and IL progression as a Swordsage, how much would it boost the class?

It'd be about as good, maybe a little worse than a Swordsage. At higher levels it'd definitely be behind.

So... a Cha-based Swordsage with a slightly different set of class features? I mean, you'd be a Swordsage. You'll do fine.

And - without the ability synergy that Swordsage provides - you'd be behind swordsage. Not bad by any means, but still.

For another take on a battle dancer fix, here’s a version (http://torchofspirit.proboards.com/thread/5/classes?page=1#scrollTo=462) from StreamOfTheSky, reframed as a capoeirista.

What "ability synergy?" Not getting to wear armor is admittedly painful, but you really just lose out on stat-to-damage-with-certain-maneuvers--- not something the Swordsage really struggles with. Instead, you get to be one of... what, three melee classes with native access to Pounce? (Barbarian, Wildshape Ranger, and Battle Dancer). In either case, maneuvers more than compensate for class features.

Thanks! Here's a direct link (http://torchofspirit.proboards.com/post/462).
One major thing I did notice from using the class is that you should remove the requirements from Improved Feint, otherwise outside of great rolls or high point buy, a Capoeirista who wants it is going to be hard pressed. It's a pretty MAD class (Str/Dex/Con/Cha), and the high skill points was meant to help allow the character to not need Int. Being outside of the class itself, there wasn't much I could do about it. :smallfrown:
