I have an extremely quick question. Would you guys say a humanoid who is about 5' and 90lbs is small or medium sized?

Taller than a Dwarf -> Medium

Don't dwarves usually weigh more than 90lbs, though? By, like, a lot?

Weight usually seems to be the less accurate measure of a creature's size category.

But a 5', 90lb. creature is well within the bounds of Medium by either metric (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/movementPositionAndDistance.htm#bigandLittleCreatu resInCombat). Medium is anything that's between 4 ft. and 8 ft. and anything that's between 60 lb. and 500 lb.

So, you're in agreement? Medium size?

An elf has 80lbs base weight, and is Medium.

That's an 80lbs base weight, though. This is 90lbs average weight.

This is perfectly accurate.

So, looking at the rest of these templates, I'm just going to throw the next one into small size as it comes out to about 3' 10" and 55lbs and the last one into tiny size as it comes out to 1' 8" and 7lbs, but we've got one that comes out to 2' 10" and 25lbs, so is that small or tiny?

Nevermind, guys. I see the link now. Unless somebody objects to the given rules, that says they come out to small size.

Size categories are determined entirely by height/length. Values are given for typical weight ranges, but these are not binding. An air elemental would be much lighter than a normal creature of its size, while a creature made of metal or stone will be heavier.

How does one extrapolate that the answer is Small when everyone in the thread said it's Medium?

Or have I misinterpreted your last message? What templates are you referring to?

The one I struck out, not the first one. 2' 10", 25lbs.

And these are age templates. No multipliers are listed, but I needed an idea what sizes to stick on them.

This is entirely accurate, though a little leeway should be allowed. Per the random height chart for core races, it's entirely possible to have a Dwarf that's shorter than 4' (in fact, female Dwarves average out to 3'11") and no mention is made of them becoming Small.
