So Im planning to run a sea/underwater adventure campaign, but can't figure out whether I want to run a PbP or Voice Chat game which would be best?. Im not sure if this question should be in this sub-thread

This is probably more appropriate to the roleplaying games forum, you're right.

They're very different experiences. PbP is slow-paced, but you get to think about your actions and edit them until you're happy. VoIP is faster-paced, and handles combat a whole lot better.

Why don't you try making an account on Roll20 or some other virtual tabletop and trying it out? And hang out with a friend or two on Hangouts/ Skype and have a mini-session? You won't know what you really like until you've tried them, I think.

This really comes down to scheduling; if you and your group can et online at the same time, voice is superior. If scheduling is a problem (perhaps because some of the players are in different time zones, PbP is they way to go.
