Blindness/Deafness vs. Dispel Magic

As the title already suggests, is dispel magic a counter to the blindness/deafness spell?
On the one hand it isn't an instantaneous effect, on the other it would be stealing lesser restorations thunder.

Yes. And while Dispel Magic is more versatile, it's not stealing Lesser Restoration's thunder... you're using 3rd level spell to do 2nd level spell's job.

It's good to have more than one solution to a problem. Parties aren't always made of exactly the perfect combination of classes and people can only prepare so many spells.

The blindness/deafness spell? Yes. Mundane blindness and deafness (or that caused by instantaneous magic like a flash of blinding light)? You'd need healing magic for that. Lesser Restoration doesn't need to nerf Dispel Magic to be useful.
