I just started running a game set in Skyrim. Rather than having to always come up with new enemies, I plan to build some NPCs to use as bandits, then level them up as the party levels. (The bandits will be several levels behind the party.)

I know what I am using for the melee NPC, but am still considering the archer and arcane caster.

Arcane: I'm debating between pure Sorcerer, or Sorcerer/Warlock/Eldritch Theurge. Pure Sorc would advance casting better, but Warlock give an always-useable touch attack and some variety.

Archer: the choice is Ranger or Scout. I think Scout would be easier, but Ranger has better BAB, and I can give Favored Enemy of the Elder Scrolls races.

You might as well go full Sorcerer with the arcane bandit. Sorcerers already have more than enough spells to last an encounter, and a measly few d6s at will isn't going to be noticed one way or the other, especially if the alternative is more powerful sorcerer spells.
