So me and my friends tend to find songs we feel fits our characters. I'm just curious as to what you guys have picked for some of your favorite characters or characters you based around a song.

Not D&D but i once had a druid themed character in nWoD, I think the song is called Coulche Lad of something phonetically like that. Just a funny irish pub song that fit him.

If you give reddit a song, and a character concept, maybe you can get a parody of it

https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/3hpp0y/my_barbarian_wants_to_be_ash_thrashem_he_needs_a/

Aside from a good parody, this thread also has some links to good songs/playlists that could be used as a basis

Also my Dm ( who posted the tread for me, because who needs reddit am I right?) based an entire campaign off the works of TSFH (Two steps from hell) This is there YouTube Channel

Any song by Volbeat would make a good character IMO.

For a cynical/pessimistic sorcerer or Wizard, you could do 'A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall'.

Funny that this topic came up, as most of the players in my campaign have them...

LG hill dwarf paladin: Sabaton's "The Last Stand"

LG human monk: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's "Day Man"

CG half-elf lord bard 14/life cleric 1/rogue 2: The Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive" (he's died and been rezzed twice, FWIW)

LN wood elf death cleric: Kansas' "Dust in the Wind"

CN bugbear totem barbarian 11/thief 3/battlemaster 3: Alice in Chains' "Man in the Box" (this player has gone through at least three times as many characters as everyone else, so he's stuck with it regardless of character)

CN hill dwarf Druid: Theme from Jurassic Park (yes, he's seen dinosaurs)

Or anything by Manowar.

Seriously, those guys are made for DnD.

He's not been played yet, but I have a gnoll ranger, who was entirely inspired by the song "Hungry Forever More", by The Historian Himself. (https://historianhimself.bandcamp.com/album/gather-bones)

I really enjoyed the pre-release theory that Team Skull from Pokemon Gen VII would have a voodoo backstory so I included a gang called 'the Skulls' in my urban monstrous party campaign and their boss, 'Kal-Lo' ('kallo' is Finnish for 'skull') is an albino bugbear with magic based around fire and death as well as a huge pet spider with a skull motif (because Guzma is a bug catcher; these themes mesh surprisingly organically for the character's backstory).

Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXe37XCnn-E) is the Skulls' theme.

Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REC7daXbjho) is the battle theme for Kal-Lo (intro removed).

Snip.

Dude, you have no idea how long I've wanted to make a boxer monk because of this show. I really want to throw a reference to Lallapalooza in there somewhere.

On a largely unrelated note, I go a step further and like to find an entire band that matches my characters. In my half-orc fighter's case, I use any song that Ronnie James Dio sings in. Here's my favourite for this particular character:

My friend, once the monk hits 11 and his strikes become 1d8 that's all I think about!
DEMPSEEEEI ROROUUUUUU!!!!
And I´m going to do the same with the Monk 11/warlock 1 when I go against a poor soul with HEX!
Or maybe go jojo's Bizarre adventure with a Stand.
BLACK HOULE SUUN! OVADRIVUUUUUU!!!!

A friend and I agreed this pretty aptly fit my 3.5 Era Fighter/Wizard, Bertram: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9xz8-zuti0

Tabaxi Rogue: Cat Scratch Fever - Ted Nuggent
Alpha Male rogue that pees on everything: Hound dog - Elvis
Fighter that has a habit of being hit by boulders: Let's Get Rocked - Def Leopard
Me, Aasimar Paladin of Death: Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden

Ah JoJo, the ultimate in interesting settings for power concepts. I think it would be pretty easy to reflavour a lot of classes (i.e. the ones that aren't 100% physical) as Stand users, though they'd be a lot more pedestrian than the ones you'd find in the series proper. It would require a willing DM and party, of course, but it would be interesting at the very least: reflavouring stuff to match something like Berserk is simple (and awesome) but this would make for a very nice challenge.

I also feel like In The Court of The Crimson King has a campaign concept in it somewhere, though I'm not smart enough to suss it out.

I actually make playlists on youtube for my favorite characters to try and get in the head space for roleplaying them.

For my Ranger/Cleric I used during Curse of Strahd I used a lot of this artist's songs, settling on this as a favorite as they uploaded more.

Anime has really changed the way I see D&D that's for sure and I love your idea of reflavoring the game with jojo in the mean time another theme song especially for the monk-warlock would be
