I hope this is a fitting rendition - did quite a bit of hunting to find the hack files necessary to build this model in NWN2. This is the before fall look.

Wow, looks very much like Miko, except perhaps a tad too masculine. She doesn't look like someone I would think Roy would automatically be attracted to. That said, it is a very close rendering. Good job.

AS would I but people with taste like Roy probably wouldn't

Masculine? Maybe Dead on, let's try at an angle.

While I'm playing with it, here's after fall. Note that I changed the costume completely - I doubt any prison staff would lock up a samari up in their full armor, so Miko is presented here in a simple monk's gi.

They wouldn't have a problem locking her up with that big sword?

Good work though, I like it.

Hehe, looking down at her legs on the first pic, it kinda looks like she's wearing socks with sandals. >_>

I think she looks more like a vulcan than anything.

Now that you say, she does look similar to a Vulcan, minus the ears. The eyebrows are certainly familiar.

...it's the bangs. Miko's hair was shorter in front, but not cut into bangs... I have no idea if you can change her hair or if it's a template, but if you let her hair loose and lose the short bangs in front you'd be right there...

I like the model, but I'm not sure how "Miko" it is. Here's (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0263.html) a quick reference for her. And now, some commentary.

First off is the hair; I don't think Miko's has ever been tied back. One that frames her face a little more will do a lot, I think.
If you want to play up the Japan angle, you may also want to try to find a slightly rounder face. I'm not going to claim to be a phrenology expert here, but a quick search through Wikipedia's article on J-Pop seems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chisato_Moritaka) to (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seiko_Matsuda) support (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utada_Hikaru) my suspicion that that's what I'm seeing that feels off. She's got a very strong jaw in particular, and I think it might be part of what the "too masculine" comment was about.
Finally, the armor. That's great looking samurai armor, but I'm not sure that it's necessarily Miko, either. The armor's curves tend to hide hers, which doesn't fit with the visible bust in the comic. (Then again, this is a stick figure comic. One could chalk that up to the same sort of thought that resulted in female cartoon characters always having giant bows in their hair and lipstick.) Something that fits a little closer to her body would also play up the "Crazy Kung Fu Chick" angle. I'd look for something pretty similar to Casca here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/MerlintheTuna/Random%20Images/Casca_berserk_01.jpg), which also has Miko's shoulder guards.
Still, good work; that's a great looking samurai.

Silly McBilly, they were socks with sandals. Tabi, Japanese toe-socks, and zoris, straw sandals.

Nice! That is really neat. However, I do think that the bangs have to go.

There's one other hairstyle from the 17 available that might work. I'll switch it tonight and re-upload.

That's O'Chul's sword :smalltongue: y'know, the one she destroyed the sapphire with making everything go boom, then splitting her world apart in a flash?

Nice but not quite Miko

As has been said, the hair is wrong, at least it needs to be loose

And she is supposed to be cute. Really cute. Sexy despite absolutely not wanting to be, an inaccessible uptight bitch that guys drool at while "can't touch this" plays in the background.

Not bad, but yes, it's a tad vulcan. In a non T'pol-related fashion, which is a pity, given she was the only good thing about Enterprise.

Perhaps the following might be helpful (http://home.graffiti.net/alfryd:graffiti.net/ArtImages/MikoLight.png)?

It's not like I have an overwhelming variety of head styles to choose from in the toolset. There are 12, and most of them are just god awful. Of those available this is the best one unless I want to crack open a mesh editor (which I intend to eventually but don't know how at present).

Remember, Miko is an orphan. She may not even be strictly asian. Indeed, if she were half-asian in an all asian city it would further underscore her sense of apartness and being separate from everyone she knows. YMMV, but I do like this particular look though I agree the hair needs adjusting.

It's just the untied wild hair look of Miko's always jarred me a bit. Having had long hair in the past when I was a teen and studying karate, I can tell you that having that much hair unbound is a pain in the ass when sparring, let alone fighting. I guess you could used to it, but it seemed, I dunno, an appearance trait inconsistent with her personality. I'll try the one other hairstyle I almost used, but if it doesn't work there isn't anything else in the toolset at present that will.

When it's long enough, it's not a problem anymore.
I often do LARPs, fighting with latex weapons, and I have hair longer than the half of my back, never tied. It's long enough that it always stays behind my back, it never gets in the way.
Or maybe it's just that I really have +2 magical viking hair... that's what I tell people when they ask me how I can fight with long loose hair.

Who-oa-oa-oa, there, Silver!
Okay. It is the probably the case that most asian women have certain physical characteristics that may not lend themselves especially well to duel-wielding katanas. But Miko is a Killer Amazon Queen. With Cleavage Armour. And a deep voice, and frightening Man-like strength.
Damnit, just make her Hawt.

I think what Alfryd's saying here is, if you look at the NWN2 Rendering of Miko Miyazaki, and think "I could tap dat", then Alias has done their job. :smallamused:

If it isn't one thing it's another eh?

NWN2 only has 13 human female heads, and 11 of them are pretty ugly.

Nice renderings of Miko and Haley.

I agree with the rest that Miko has no bangs. The shot with armor has no rack which Rich seems to be good at using to differentiating boys from girls.

Haley does look a little too innocent and refined. Also no clevage.

But again, nice work.

You should get together with somebody who does faces without a 3-d thingy. Working together you could probably get a face that works well for Miko.

I downloaded some new female costume sets and I'll take a look and see if I can come up with anything better for Haley. I don't like how that one turned out.

While Miko's drawing has breasts in the stick figure comic, I sorta doubt Miko would were armor that flaunted them in any way. Again, that feels out of character.

Maybe. I'm hoping that some more head and hairstyle sets will get released in the coming months for NWN2. It's one of the weak areas of the game.

Either that or get an editor program to work with it.

People nitpick about the hair or the outfit (two things that are easy to change and tend to vary anyway), but nobody made a comment about the chin on that thing!?

This NWN2 Miko is a boy. I've never seen a woman with a chin like that.

Ok, I revised Miko following the requests made as best I could within the limits of the toolset. I also created three new character models

Shojo

To match his shirt!

Seriously, tint settings apply to the whole armor suit - wyrven hide.
