okay in 5th edition the volo's guide, Race Tabaxi: gains racial ability to double its move speed.
if we have a character that has the following classes: Rogue 3rd level & Monk 6th level, at this stage in the game before any other modifiers, conditions ect. the Tabaxi's base speed looks to be 45(30+15) , under a normal dash that takes it to 90 with the tabaxi speed added to that dash 180 ft.. which by the rules looks legit.

Now add in Haste, which says it doubles the speed and give extra action for things like dash, so tabaxi 45 becomes 90 then dash becomes 180 then tabaxi speed 360 ft, then take that extra action to dash yet again another 180 ft and then use that rogue cunning action to dash yet again 180ft - 720ft movement by my count. and looks legit

that cant be right can it?

Not only legit, but you could have your wizard pal cast Longstrider on you too. Now you're at 880. While it is possible to get these ultra-high numbers, in actual play, once you're beyond, say 200, you're effectively able to move about the battlefield at will. As long as you can trace a path that doesn't wander into a ZoC, you can just pick where you want to be for certain actions. I'd save those extra and bonus actions to do something more useful.

That is actually on the low end for speed-optimization builds. Once you get into the thousands of feet for speed, that is when you get the craziness.

Yes the Tabaxi can lead to some amazing speed cheese...but you can only do it every otehr round and most encounters will never let you fully utilize that speed.
