So my Wizard/Incantatrix Lauren (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=308678) and her Raven Familiar Leonora (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=351997) have each individually just been given the quest reward Wild Talent (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm).

Uh, what? Can I get any use from this at all? Neither character is a manifester.

As a side note, as part of a previous reward Leonora is a divine caster with 1 spell slot per spell level of the Healing domain (cure, etc.), and Lauren has Arcane versions of the Restoration domain in her spellbook.

It means you can use the Concentration skill to gain psionic focus (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/skills/concentration.htm#gainPsionicFocus), I believe. On its own that doesn't do very much - you can expend it to take 15 on a Concentration check - but it's not nothing. If you want to get more use out of it you can take psionic feats, many of which involve expending your psionic focus to get a special effect, but I can't think of any offhand that'd be terribly useful for a spellcaster.

I suppose a certain 15 on a concentration check isn't bad for a spellcaster (free 26 result!).

In this game familiars advance by HD with the master's level, which means that they pick up feats. Are there any psionic feats that might be useful on a familiar?

Ghost Attack CAN be a decent feat for either of you - especially if you tend to blast with things that aren't force effects. Best part is it doesn't actually expend your focus, you just need to maintain it.
Up the Walls is a nice mobility option, but you're starting to enter into Fly territory so eh. It's great for Psionic mounts...

Incantatrix 4 already allows me to fully affect Ethereal creatures. Jay as well, as the DM keeps dropping them on us!

Probably worth asking: which version of the incantatrix are you using? The amazing version or the good version?

Ah! I was not aware there were two versions! The one that deals with ethereal creatures (thematic for our game), as opposed to the one that steals control of other people's spells.

You wouldn't happen to be gaming with this person (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?517864-Artificer-with-Wild-Talent), would you? :smalltongue:

A few...

Inquisitor: Expend your psionic focus to gain a +10 bonus to Sense Motive vs Bluff. You must decide to use it before you roll.

Psionic Dodge: Gain a +1 dodge bonus to AC while psionically focused. Requires Dodge, but stacks.

Psionic Meditation: Become psionically focused as a Move action rather than a Full-Round action.

Speed of Thought: Gain +10 feet to your speed while psionically focused and not wearing heavy armor. May or may not apply to flying speed.

If you have access to Complete Psionic...

Focused Perception: Expend your psionic focus to gain 60 ft. blindsense for 1 round. Requires Blind-Fight.

Focused Skill User: Choose three skills. You gain a +2 competence bonus when using those skills while psionically focused. Can be taken multiple times to choose additional skills.

One that's not useful for a caster, but kind of fun/funny is Up the Walls. Basically allowing you to pull off wall running and get around some rough terrain.

Couple interesting choices there, thanks.

If you're wanting Leonara to take any more psionic feats, I would suggest starting with this one. The character sheets show you're already investing in some good ol' raven UMD action, so you might as well get another +2 on there (in addition to +2 on two other skills you like).

With no further investment, Lauren can still take advantage of being psionically focused to take 15 on a check to cast defensively for free once per encounter. There's not as much value in psionic feats for you, but since you already have a metamagic focus, check with your DM for their interpretation of the psycarnum infusion trick. If they think it works, you could take midnight metamagic for your next feat, then psycarnum infusion after that for scaling free metamagic at least once per encounter. Additional feat investments of psionic meditation, or incarnum spellshaping (or some other way of gaining another point of essentia) and improved essentia capacity will let you get that free metamagic every round or with a bigger free spell level increase, respectively.
