So I'm preparing to DM Rise of Tiamat, and I'm expanding the factions. The Harpers, Zhentarim, Lord's Alliance, and Emerald Enclave have tons of history from previous editions of D&D. However, I'm coming up short with the Order of the Gauntlet. The only thing I can find is this (http://dnd.wizards.com/dungeons-and-dragons/story/faction/ordergauntlet) article, but it's just a very short blurb.

From what I can tell, the Order is new to 5th, created specifically so paladins and clerics have a faction. Am I wrong? Is there other information on the Order of the Gauntlet? Like, where are their headquarters? Who's their leader? What notable events have they had a hand in?

Thanks everyone!

We're playing Princes of the Apocalypse, but I don't know how much of what we've seen of them in game is canon and how much is stuff my DM has changed:
-It is either entirely (or just mostly) made up of followers of Tyr, Torm, Helm and Ilmater.
-We've seen fighters, paladins, clerics, a bard and one memorable Shadow Monk.
-The forces we've interacted with have basically been a military organization with a few specialists instead of a bunch of allied adventurers. There are military style ranks that matter.
-They are meritocratic. There is a guy who is a noble and sort of salty that his commander is a commoner, but even then he follows orders.
-They are at least somewhat susceptible to political maneuvering.

They're kind of a rough alliance of the orders of Tyr, Torm and Helm. Ilmater is thrown in for good measure. The name is based on the fact that most of the symbols for the deities in question are all gauntlets, or feature hands of some kind.

Ooh, nice! Upon further digging, it looks like Tyr, Ilmater, and Torm were in a similar alliance called the Triad (http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/The_Triad), detailed more in the 2nd edition book Faith and Avatars. The info on the wiki is sparse, but it seems like the "Triadic Knights" were a precursor to the Order of the Gauntlet, at least until one of the gods killed another? But then they were revived? There's a lot of metaplot to wade through here...
