Do you know where I could find balanced dices of extremely high quality?

I'm also wondering if you knew where I could find loaded dice for D&D :smallamused:

Do not use loaded dice. Nobody will like you.
Casino dice (https://www.casinosupply.com/collections/casino-dice) are about the most clean-cut, balanced ones you'll find, but they can be very expensive.

dices

In English, "die" is the singular (for one), "dice" is plural (for more than one).

I live in Europe, so someone that would ship to Italy would be great.

Anyway, the loaded dice are just for the rolls when I make a new character. I'm starting to hate that the dice do choose what I will become (and usually I have stats resembling a commoner).

Last character is 14 - 12 - 12 - 9 - 8. And this was the best roll amongst the three you are supposed to do.

So trust me, I need loaded dice for my mental health being.

The character before this one was a barbarian with 52 hp (level 7), with a constitution of 18, so trust me, it's not about cheating, it's about having a fair game. I will use the loaded dice for one of the the three rolls you are supposed to do, and the balanced for the others.

Then I will use only the balanced dice during the campaign

Btw, thanks for the correction ~

Look up some precision dice. I have particularly bad luck with dice rolls a lot of times myself - I've literally rolled an AD&D2e that was unplayable, as in could not qualify for any class and so could not complete character creature - and I've found that dice specifically designed to be "fair" tend to be a lot better in avoiding the string of sub-5 dice rolls. If you are just talking about d6 dice, then the mention of casino dice is a particularly good one. Even rejected casino dice are manufactured to far higher standards than a typical gaming die.

If you can't get (or don't want) precision or casino dice, then just ask to use a point-buy method for the games. Point out how much lower you are in stats compared to the other party members, if it is that much of a difference.

Don't use loaded dice. The other people will know. THE OTHER PEOPLE WILL KNOW. It is incredibly obvious, either because you always pull out the dice for specific purposes or because your rolls are higher than average. If you think that you can pull out a specific set of dice and roll up a 12-18 character and NOT have it be clear what is going on, you're kidding yourself.

Your party might not do anything, or even say anything about it. Some might not want to game with you if it keeps up. Some GMs might intentionally fudge rolls against you as "counter-cheating". Some may just request you roll with different dice. But even if nothing happens, they will certainly pick up on what is going on.

That's fairly average for dice rolls, actually. In fact, it is almost a perfect example of standard 3d6 distribution. I'm not sure why you think this is somehow unfair.

Unless the GM gives you the OK to use loaded dice.... just don't. It's a poor decision. Also, loaded dice are easy to spot. They roll weirdly.

If what you want is balance, either convince the GM to have you guys use a Stat Array or a Point Buy system.

You can also buy Used Casino Dice. Most Casinos only use each set of dice for about 2000 rolls, and after that swap them out. The downside is that you MUST HAVE a padded surface to bounce them off of. Otherwise they just thunk on the ground and don't roll thanks to those sharp edges.

Just get nice machined dice frm places lile GameScience for the best randomness.

A tablet RNG should be a lot fairer than a die. Tablet, so the rest of the table can watch you roll.

This is a textbook example of cheating, you can dress it up how you like but no-one likes a cheat. If I found you cheating like this in my game, I'd just ban you.

Trying to cheat this way makes you a lowlife. Thinking that we'll help you cheat makes you an idiot. Thinking that no one will notice makes you an even bigger idiot. Don't be a lowlife or an idiot.

If you're concerned about your character creation and hp rolls going poorly, then talk to your group about it. Perhaps you all can start using average values instead of rolling for hp. Or using pointbuy or arrays instead of rolling for stats. That will go over much better than cheating will.

Every table I have ever sat at, every last one including my current one, I have caught people cheating.
I've done it myself on occasion. I am not too proud to admit it, though It's extremely rare.
Mostly it's the people who use the small octagonal dice rolling bins. They roll, then shift the die as they "pick it up to get a better view."
Or people who roll where no one can see the results. They think I don't notice, but I do. Believe it or not, it happens FAR more often with skill checks than anything else. A lot more rides on the result of a skill check than a standard attack roll.

Hey buddy, real cheaters learn the golden touch, and real players learn how to roll with the consequences of real stat rolls. If you want to cheat, at least put 6 months in to learn the fine art of craps dice setting instead of making an Amazon order. Seriously though, just use point buy.

Edit: Please don't spend 6 months mastering the golden touch so that you can cheat on d6 rolls. At that point you have a problem.

Your DM sucks, he's giving you zero player agency and kind of throwing out the point of skill checks in favor of stats, which is an RP decision that should belong to a character alone. You, however, are trying to buy loaded dice. Talk out your problems with the DM, but you really can't defend cheating with a sob story. Save those for the Worst DM thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?514271-Who-was-the-worst-DM-you-ve-ever-had). If you bring loaded dice to the table, you automatically suck more than your DM does in my opinion. By cheating, you're endorsing cheating. You're talking about how much you hate theivery while you shoplift in full view of the security guards, my man. Deflecting the blame might work on a GitP poster, but it certainly isn't going to work on a room full of angry party members.

Edit: in this post, you also seem to say that unless you're lucky with dice, you can't have fun. Pulling out the old "it's ruining player fun" argument works 9/10 times, but you got lucky number 10, cheating. Guess you need some loaded dice for real life too.

Don't cheat. That's an extreme overreaction to a lack of communication. Why not speak to your DM about how you are not enjoying the game? Perhaps a compromise can be reached.

mate, at level 8, as a mage, polymorphing to a hydra will make me way better in fighting than anything I could do if I was a mere barbarian. It's thanks to people like you that I understand why I know so many players play only mage or clerics. It's what one of my friends once said: why pissing yourself off by being a fighter, when you can achieve everything and more by being a mage, just by choosing good spells, or a cleric

who am I to complain, I guess

Thanks for answering and I appreciate your effort. I think after the character I currently got and another one that I was planning together with a few kind guys I'll be over with D&D. Not even worth getting mad anymore

"It's not cheating if I cheat for a good reason"

No, that's still cheating. It's like saying stealing isn't stealing if you really need the money.

You aren't one to complain until you speak to your DM. Do you really think your DM is the type to WANT people not to enjoy his games? If so, bail. Bail so hard you leave skid marks on the floor.

In Italy is exactly like that, if you wish to know it.

I think you're getting confused between whether something is right or wrong and what words actually mean.

So stealing because you really need the money is still stealing, even if it's morally defensible, because that's what 'stealing' means. Likewise, cheating is still cheating, even if you have a reason to cheat, because, again, words have meaning.

I understand your point and I agree. But let me say, the mechanical part seems to have the supremacy over everything else in this game. I never ever played dice games and the more I play D&D the more I understand how far I should stay away from them.

Thanks for putting it this way.

LOL

KOPLOW dice make some very good quality dice. Also you can get trick pair of d6 that can only roll 7 or 11, and also a set of 'straight 18s' d6 for fun, from them as well as (iirc this is where I got my set).

Loaded dice are OK for a DM to swap in at times, but as a player, avoid using those in play.
