So what class do you think is the most fun to go though all thw long way from level 1 to level 20?

My awnser, druid because you start off as a hippie with the power to guess the wheather and slowly turn into an ageless god with complete control over the natural world.

Rogue. Hands down, for me.

The fact that nearly all their abilities scale in some way and few to none ever become irrelevant or stale to use.

There's no "wait time" for a Rogue build to really come online either; just about every level is an exercise in controlling your excitement at achieving the next. If it's not Sneak Attack, it's adding two to your chosen Expertise Skills (while everyone else only adds one to their proficiencies). If it's not that, then it's an ASI/Feat. If it's not that, it's some cool and iconic ability that really changes up your game. For example; A Fighter gets Extra Attack at level 5, making him better at something he's already quite good at; a Rogue gets Uncanny Dodge, changing him from a skirmisher into a tank.

No other Class gives you as much agency without getting magic involved and no other Class can do so with as much "adventuring endurance". With few, if not no "daily" resources, Rogues get it done at every level and they do it all day every day.

Then there's the choice. Sure, Clerics have a bunch of Domains and Wizards their Schools, but they're all just variations on a theme. Rogues have five distinct Archetypes (if using SCAG), each of which has it's own unique idiom; from Thief to Mastermind to Arcane Trickster.

How about versatilty? They're (potentially] better at book-study than a Wizard, know more about the gods than Clerics, better at athletic endeavours than a Fighter and better at wilderness survival than a Ranger. They hold their own in every pillar of the game, giving them "screen time" at every turn; the Fighter might take a back-seat in social scenes, the Wizard might do the same in exploration...but the Rogue? He's kicking butt and taking names whatever the game or scene.

Bard for me. Probably lore bard.

All the time something scales well. Bardic inspiration makes you relevant even when others are doing their thing. You get world altering magic and the choice of spells from any class. Your at will abilities can also be pretty mighty with superb skills - you can always talk your way out of fights you don't think are favourable to you.

At every tier of the game the bard is relevant and getting new abilities. They are versatile and very powerful.
