Some feats require BAB of a certain amount. Question is if the requirement for Improved Crit for example is BAB 8, would my 5th lvl orc barbarian (BAB 5) with a strength of 20 which has a (BAB+5) modifier go towards his Improved Crit requirements? Or does that strength modifier not count towards his BAB. I'm pretty sure it does but just wanted to double check.

Strength does not count for BAB.

To expand on that reply, you add your strength bonus to BAB to get your Attack bonus.

Your Attack bonus is not your Base Attack Bonus. BAB is a separate value that contributes to your final Attack Bonus that is pretty much only altered by leveling, and a few rare effects that specifically refer to Base Attack, not Attack. I.e. Divine Power (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/divinePower.htm) in 3.5, or in Pathfinder the base Monk's Flurry of Blows (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/monk/#Flurry_of_Blows_Ex)
