I decided to be a Elf Bard with (this includes race modifiers) 9 str, 15 dex, 10 con, 16 Int, 10 wis and 18 cha ; We us Players Handbook 1 and 2, DMs Guide, Complete Arcana, Libris_Mortis and Monster Manual

I plan to be a social manipulator, but I also need something for combat, idk if I should be melee or ranged? And what feats do you guys advise?

I would like to note I would like to be a pure bard, but if you can suggest a good PC using the books above or something, please feel free to suggest the idea.

Don't go melee. You have 10 con, a d6 hit die, a negative strength modifier, and are restrained to light armor. The only reason you won't be killed immediately if you go melee is the relative lack of a threat you'll pose to the enemies.

Ranged combat makes more sense. Grab a bow and shoot people for a few levels, then switch to spells once you get enough of these to comfortably use a few each encounter.

Complete Arcane has Sublime Chord, which is probably the best bard PrC of all time. Getting some of the nifty sorcerer/wizard enchantment spells would fit the manipulator thing you're going for, not?

I agree wholeheartedly, if you walk into melee with 9 Str and 10 Con, you're going to have a bad time. Your Dex is decent, so try to play around with a mobile ranged build. I would suggest the short bow, because it's range is shorter than the longbow (duh), but this will help you stay close to your teammates, and still stay far enough away from enemies. I'm not sure how much you want to invest into the combat aspect of your Bard, but point blank shot, rapid reload, and precise shot will all help your effectiveness from a distance.

Took a look at both of them already and I am really amazed at how much effort Joshuad put in, its really amazing. The reason I posted here is because I wanted to get some "live" input so to say as well.

So as soon as you qualify you're going Sublime Chord. That's basically a given. It's the best thing a Bard can do at that level and it's not remotely close, especially given your source restrictions.

Before that, you probably want to run primarily a support/skillmonkey build, as that is where the class's greatest strength lies. (You won't go far plinking people with a bow for 1d8-1 damage.) That means buffing allies with Inspire Courage and spells like Haste, while distracting and debuffing enemies with other spells. Make sure to have some wands for utility as well as just for extra ammunition (Bards don't have THAT many spell slots), and keep in mind that Use Magic Device unlocks off-class spells, which can be handy.

Thanks for the advice, that was really helpful :) Will keep all of that in mind :)
