Ok I have somehow put my toolbar at the top of the screen and it's really pissing me off. Can someone tell me how to put it down at the bottom again.

Now, if you are using Windows XP, you can right click it and choose "Lock the Taskbar"

At least yours didn't up and die. :smallfrown: And after midnight on a Saturday what's more.

Yes because computers are really rare now days so its not like you could use another one. Not to mention how hard it is to find someone to repair it. :smalltongue:

Including the one that died, we have 3 computers here. Depressingly, Goff's spiffing new one can't be connected to the internet because Vista doesn't like the modem software, so I'm stuck on his crappy old laptop :smallsigh:
I emailed the company. The warranty doesn't cover repairs by anyone but them (no real surprise), which brings me to my next conundrum: How do I get a bloody big computer all the way to Sydney, and within my budget?

>folds into corner<
>cries<
*sob*

edit: Oh geez, I nearly am crying. I need to get out more. And also get my BLOODY computer fixed :smallsigh:

Vista huh? Wow, that's like a dream come true! Every day that passes I want to switch to Vista even more!

[/sarcasm]

I hope you solve your comp problem, Serpentine. It sucks to be without your PC. Even if you have more than one, there's your main one and you miss it when you can't use it...

Oh, did I mention there's two CDs stuck in it? And that one of them I need to study for a class? Yeah. It's not fair :smallfrown: It wouldn't surprise me if it'll cost just as much to send it down there as it would to get it fixed here! I'll call and ask whether doing so would void the warranty. I hope not :smallfrown: >sigh< I'd take a trip to the Depression thread, but my problem should be resolved within the week (or the day). Still, if anyone feels the need to cheer me up, my PM box is open, and it would be appreciated...

Ummmmm... pretty much any CD drive ever made can be opened with a paper clip. Look around for a small hole on the front of the drive, and if you stick a paper clip into it, that should pop the drive right open.

Not much in terms of helping with depression, but at least you'll have your CDs...

Heh, I learned about that way to open the cd drive when the guy who lived next door to me freshman year decided I needed Linux on my computer:smallmad:

Anyway, I have one for you. In XP, when you get a whole bunch of windows open at the same time, it compresses them into a single...tab(?) to take up less space. Well this happened and I right clicked on it and, since I feel no fear, decided to experiment with the options. So I don't know if it was "Cascade," "Tile Horizontally," or "Tile Vertically" but one of them made it so that now whenever I open internet explorer it opens as a very short but wide window instead of maximized. I don't know how to get this back to what it should be, which is maximized.

Aaaaaaa, I was experimenting with the tab thingies and all the minimized windows I had started randomly opening back up! Don't die laptop, stay away from the light.... *3 secs later* I'll never let go laptop, I'll never let go-oh wait, your fine now. (That was really weird, this is the only way I could think of describing how odd and oddly funny that was at the same time.):smallcool:

Anyway, the window thing only happens with IE. I really don't know what else to try to fix it. And it takes like 2 whole seconds every time I try to open my browser.

I keep mine at the top on purpose. It's my weird obsession with being different. I also have the buttons on my mouse switched (I'm left-handed) which generally renders my computer useless to anyone except me. I also have all my shortcuts on the left-hand side in a toolbar.

Same. This time on a Tuesday after a defragmentation.
And I'm re-installing Windows XP x64. Again. Over Windows XP.

Woa.. Lego.
