[3.5] The Master (Class)

So while trying to find options to gestalt a wizard, I saw that there existed a class called Master in the Dragonlance book War of the Lance.

The odds are probably slim, but has anyone ever used it before? Specifically the Sage path.

For those who don't know it, you choose one of four paths (Craftsman, Performer, Professional, Sage) and your class skills and available cherry-picked abilities are changed determined. Gets 8 + Int skill points a level, gets free +2 to all key skill checks (Craft, Perform, Profession, Knowledge, respectively), bonus skill-related feats, and Skill Mastery at 10th level.

The Master is a very NPC-y class... Somewhere between Magewright, Expert, and Artificer.
So probably good in a gestalt with Wizard on one side.

It doesn't seem to add that much. Wizards don't need much, but (feat) rogue or scout could do a lot more, not to mention factotum, or even ranger.

I agree.

Scout/Ranger/Swift Hunter on one side, Wizard on the other is pretty powerful. Especially an Abrupt Jaunt Conjuror, since Abrupt Jaunt is a 10' move... which would trigger Skirmish.

There's something that increases the effective range for Sneak Attack to 60'... there's little reason this shouldn't work for Skirmish as well.

Seconding Factotum; it's amazing for a Gestalted caster.

Another idea might be the Warblade. d12 HD, Full Bab, better skills and saving throws, a pile of int synergy (Int to initiative as a WIZARD?)

White Raven Tactics and those concentration Diamond Mind work well with a Wizard especially if your into a gish build.
