Hey so does polymorphing heal hitpoints or does it just give you temporary ones while you are shape shifted? I would figure you would retain your hp from your previous form when you change but gain a difference or something. My group is debating it so I figured I'd ask the gurus.

Your hit-points remain the same, but you regain health as though you had rested a full night. Certian spells also provide temporary hit-points.

In 3.5, shape changing magic no longer changes your hit point total by altering your con unless it explicitly says otherwise, such as trollshape.

You do retain your base form's HP, but polymorph (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/polymorph.htm) specifically heals your character lvl in hp, like sleeping for a night. Nothing to debate about.
