I have a question for the playground: I'm interested to hear what you have to say is the RAW and the RAReasonable.
It has to do with the elven wizard substitution level, and the spell-points variant from UA (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/magic/spellPoints.htm)

does an elven generalist get bonus spell-points from their generalist wizardry or not?
The spell-points variant calls out specialist bonus slots as NOT giving bonus spell points per level, but then mentions that bonus spells of no specified level do give bonus spell points.

Do they get (2*highest level spell)-1 bonus spell points? 1 bonus spell point? or none and just prepare an extra one?

You have no extra slots, so gain no extra spell points by RAW.

Considering that the text of Generalist Wizardry says "can cast one additional spell of his highest level" (iirc, AFB) i'd give extra spell points but no extra slots with the spell point variant.
YMMV though. This is pretty much "ask your DM" territory, as with most variant rules.

Scaling extra points seems fine to me.
