Sooo....I'm thinking of abandoning the Fire Emblem Heroes LP, but not for the same reasons as most others. The game is good...it's just that, with the realization of me having a computer, this can also mean one other thing: that I can emulate games that are better on the computer rather than having to play a game that keeps changing all the time, and is rather unpredictable.

As a person who actually likes to plan out his stories, it gets very irritating to know that whatever you think is gonna be the same tomorrow might not be the same thing today. This, combined with the fact of other games that I can play that I KNOW will be the same thing later on, is making me impatient to do another game.

In the event that people actually care, here is a list of games that I think would count under this Forum:

When I was young I played a lot of Shining Force and Shining Force II. Recently I learned about the remaster of Shining Force (this is what you'd play, right?). I never got to play it, though.

I recently went through all of II and a fair bit of the original with my son. He liked it :)

UFO defense would be interesting to see. Not sure if it would work well, but definitely interesting.

Look up Alex Knight's LP on that game, and you should get somewhat of an idea as to how it would work.

That's a pretty feel good story. Even if the story is a cliché storm, I feel it's alright in my book (plus the music being extremely catchy helps too).

UFO Enemy Unknown is a great game for a screenshot based LP, which works really well on a forum.

I did one many moons ago on the Escapist forum before it turned into a trashfire.

(Traditionally, you name your squad after forumites, which makes it better when they inevitably die.)

I'll keep that mind. While we're at it, why don't we include friends in that quota...or family members (you can use Psydenums if you want) if you wish (or if we have an infantry shortage...whichever comes first).

The thing about using other names is that the audience on the forum don't know those people. You get a sense of attachment to the squad if they're all names supplied by the community you're writing the LP for, which means your readership gets invested and feels the deaths and triumphs of their named goon more. (You can do this in any game that allows for custom names, but ones with permadeath and emergent narratives are best. Would be good for eg. Darkest Dungeon)

So...there's been recent happenings. Right now is not really a good time to do an LP.

I guess I should explain a bit. Recently, life's been getting somewhat stressful for me. I have to repeat a college course that's necessary for graduation, and that will take 12 weeks of the summer...even if it's only in one day a week. For those that have taken college, you'll probobly guess that I screwed up somewhere. Yes...but I don't want to get into any details.

With that, combined with something relatively minor in comparison (getting a girlfriend), and the stress of trying to find a job, it's really hard to find any free time.

Does this mean I won't use social media anymore? No. It just means I'll have to lighten the load off my shoulders.

I'll still be around. And I'll let you know when I finally feel ready to start writing for fun.
