So how does it scale? Or is 12d6 / 12d8 the limit for the 3.5 'verse?

RAW, unless you are an epic dragon, nothing scales above colossal.

It's a Catch 22. The RAW mandates values not on the table for monster advancement, but adding to the table isn't RAW. In other words, there are RAW values beyond 12d8, but they are undefined as far as the RAW is concerned.

Also the game kind of stops making sense in terms of combat.

Can a Colossal+++ Dragon do a full attack on a Gnome?

Grapple, threatened squares, all makes less and less sense as you climb in sizes.

The game is clearly defined around Human size, stretching outside of it kind of breaks it.

There is a book (Immortal's handbook) that does feature larger than colossal creatures, but that's not really the best dnd book

There are many ways to get virtual damage increases or say dragon form so I was wondering if there is a source. It's cool though at least by RAW there is effectively a cap.
