This has maybe been done before, yes? Except now we're open to different systems, which I don't know so no difference to me.

Anyway, D&D with Elite Array:

Str 8
Dex 14
Con 10
Wis 13
Int 15
Cha 12

(I'd like to think I have better than the elite array, esp strength and Int, but the realist in me think that 8 str is about right)

Probably something like Expert1/Monk1 or Expert1/Fighter1

Ranks in Knowledge(Mathematics, History, lots of other things) , Balance, Tumble, Move Silently, Escape Artist, Speak Language(French). No ranks in Swim or Search.

Feats: Lightning Reflexes, Skill Focus(Knowledge(Mathematics)). Maybe Dash instead (or in addition, if I'm level 3)
As a Fighter, bonus feats are Improved Unarmed Strike and Improved Grapple; as a Monk, bonus feats are Improved Grapple and Deflect Arrows.

Dex: 18
I'm really good at videogames, and no one can ever surprise me. Also, I can take a girls bra off (not that I've ever done it on any real girls, just practiced with mannequins).

Con: 16
I almost never get sick and bike, like, everywhere all the time. Plus, I don't lose my breath going up stairs.

Int: 18
I'm way smart. My teachers said so. I'm really good at solving puzzles and doing math. I can add stuff up in my head really fast, too.

Wis: 20
My wisdom is incredible. Everyone asks me for advice, and I'm super good at spotting stuff. I see things that no one else does, and they're all "wow, how'd you spot that from the car as we drove past so fast?"

Cha: 17
I'm very good at convincing people and I never get caught lying. I'm also very good at manipulating people and making them think stuff but really I just have a good bluff lol.

I'm not sure what standards we're using here, but assuming the general population was generated with 3d6 attributes, I guess I'd be:

Real-life qualifications/profession:
Degree in geology, MSc in Hydrographic surveying, work as a marine cartographer. I guess this would translate to:
Class: Expert, probably 2-3 levels, depending on what scale you are using. Skills: mostly Knowledge: Physics, Geology, Oceanography, Geography, also in general science, Nature, History, Computing, and General Geeky Stuff. Plus a little bit of Swim, and Profession: Cook.

Also, at least one level of Monk (I'm taking my Black Belt grading on Saturday)

Additional D20 Modern feat: Weapon proficiency: Personal Firearms (I shoot rifles as a hobby)

Str: 12-14. Pretty good at lifting heavy objects, can do 80+ push-ups when I get up in the morning and before going to bed (usually).

Dex: 12. Not naturally particularly dexterous, but my dex, agility, initiative, etc have improved notably as a result of my martial arts training.

Con: Tricky: I'm pretty resistant to pain and injury, but don't have a particularly strong immune system (get a lot of colds etc). Maybe 12-14, but with a penalty to Save vs Disease. And a bonus to saves vs. cold effects. (I just don't feel the cold. I can happily wear a short-sleeved shirt or T-shirt while most others are wearing multiple layers. Many people find this surprising.)

Int: 18+

Wis: 12

Cha: 8 (my RL dump stat, unfortunately. Not that I'm ugly or unpleasant, but just naturally quite shy and not normally very outgoing).

Oh, and as an after-thought:
* I know about rocks etc.
* I'm fairly short.
* I like beer/ale
* I'm tough, but have a Cha penalty
* I'm not a fan of elves.

Obviously, my race must be Dwarf :)

Hmmm... second afterthought:
* Martial arts training
* Firearms proficiency
* Cookery

I must be Steven Segal :)

Hmm. I've never played GURPS, so with my downloaded copy of GURPS Lite in... hand... let's see how badly Delaney can maul this! :D

Most people's intelligence scores are quite high (15-16, generally, with a couple 18s and a 19(!)), apparently. I guess it's probably demographic.

Standardized test scores say I'm top .2%, but it's all very subjective, really. I don't think I can rely on myself to assess my own mental abilities.

I'm not going to bother with transcribing myself onto the ol' stat table, as I don't really understand how it's supposed to apply to real life (obviously, because it isn't). E.G. I can bench average at best for my height/weight, but I can also break concrete with my hands, so what am I supposed to be? I'm agile, but I'm bad at some things manual (handwriting, for example. I'm also not an exceptionally apt pen-spinner, although I'm improving.) Intelligence and wisdom, too, are really very hard to quantify (especially with a single number).

Edit: I'm probably taking this too seriously; it's just supposed to be a fun little exercise. I guess I sound kind of like a jerk in retrospect.

You aren't being overly harsh, people are giving themselves waaaaaaayyyy too many 18's and high scores.

But here's my attempt

D&D
9 Strength (a little weaker than normal due to muscle problems but still exercise)
10 Dexterity (just normal)
12 Constitution(I don't get sick very often, get well pretty fast and rarely feel pain)
12 Intelligence (I am relatively smart, but not a supergenius)
8 Wisdom (I do stupid ****, a lot. It makes life interesting)
11 Charisma (people like me, even though I'm shy)

Old WOD
Strength 2
Dexterity 2
Constitution 2

Manipulation 2
Charisma 2

I've always been of the train of thought that player characters are extreme cases. Normal humans are pretty standard with little variation.

Standardized test scores say I'm top .2%, but it's all very subjective, really. I don't think I can rely on myself to assess my own mental abilities. For Int, you can basically either judge based on standardized test scores, or you can just throw up your hands and say "I dunno". Using the standard 3d6 method, 1 person in 216 will have an 18 Int, so scores at the 99.5 percentile or above would be a base of 18. I listed myself as a 19, because I think I'm best modelled as a 4th-level character, which would mean (in D&D terms) that I've increased one of my ability scores by one point, and Intelligence is the ability I use most often, and the only one I've put any significant effort into improving.

Now, Wisdom, on the other hand, is much harder to quantify, especially for one's own self. So there, I basically just guessed that I'm somewhere around average.

How long can you hold your breath?
If you can hold it for 20 rounds (120 seconds), you have a con score of 10.

How much weight can you lift above your head?
If you can lift 100 lbs above your head, you have a strength of 10.

Most people (Westerners in the modern era) have negative strength and constitution modifiers.

Well, there certainly are more applicable disadvantages in the full version (I apparently have quite a few not to be found in Lite), but then, you also have to consider: you're you. While most people fall under 100 points, from what you say about yourself on these boards, 167 isn't surprising.

*sneaks Chronic Pain (Migraines) and Low Alcohol Tolerance* Make that 151. ^^

Chronic Pain is actually variable. I forget what exactly what determines the ending CP value, but I've done the exercise before, and I remember it being 15.

I believe that's an accumulation of Severe Pain (15) for 8 hours (x2) on the daily dice result of a 6 or less (x.5)...or something. 4 hour attacks are x1, I'm sure, and 2 hours is x.5. The pain types are Mild, Moderate, Severe, and Crippling, and the frequency of attacks (dice results) are something like 6 or less, 9 or less, 12 and less, and 15 or less.

Sorry for inexact values.

Most people (Westerners in the modern era) have negative strength and constitution modifiers.

But there's more to consider than just one single narrow measurement for the physical attributes. Taking Con as an example, because of my lung issues, I can't hold my breath for any amount worth measuring, yet I'm sure my frequent walking (it's my only mode of transportation, and I'm generally out in 90+ degree weather for an hour or more at a time in a hilly area) and lack of any sort of disease in years (including two years of working in retail and convenience stores, giving me plenty of exposure to all sorts of nasty crap) would point to at least a 10.

I was using mine as if I was to create an actual hero based off myself using the D&D rule set (36 point system for those who care,or don't...seemed the best way to get it more accurate). Course now I'd have to go through my skills and then depending on how I see how good I am there would determine what level I should be in game.

Human Archivist 2 (I'm still in high school, what do you expect?)
STR: 10 (I have decent strength, but I ain't bench pressing people.
DEX: 7 (I have basic coordination, but my most dexterious actions are long steps over stuff on the floor in my room)
Con: 12 (Mostly due to my resistance to ailments, particularly with food, and my tolerance of pain(try riding in a rural school bus with no suspension when you have pains on your lower half.)
Int: 16 (I still have a lot to learn, but I'm intelligent enough to solve complex logic problems)
Wis: 16 (I'm not solving a lot of big problems(despite my ideas about social security) but I can offer advice and console just about anyone I know and I always tend to make the right choice)
Cha: 9 (I'm not a looker, but I can lie, persuade, and scare like nobody's business)
Luck: 14 (it always seems like any assignment I don't do is pushed back that extra day.)

Skills: Mostly knowledges, with odds and ends thrown in for the random mass of trivia I've learned.

Feats:
Staredown: +4 on intimidation when eye contact can be established. Must be within 20 feet of target.
I DISBELIEVE!!!:reroll save on mind-effecting spells and abilities.

True Resurrection! (casts on thread)

Just registered and saw this thread. Co-incidentally, I just statted myself out for Call of Cthulhu (original BRP by Chaosium) to act as a benchmark for my players when I run a oneshot in which they will play themselves. In a zombie apocalypse, or as new cultists, unsure.

Anyway...

Investigator Occupation - Student.
Degrees, qualifications - midway through university education
Male, age 20, no mental disorders.

11 HP, no damage bonus
99-Cthulhu Mythos - 99

Dex: 12 (I am good with my hands and an good at avoiding projectiles)
Con: 12 (I get sick like once every two years, and I have a high tolerance for stress)
Int: 17 (I can never figure out how to properly separate Int and Wis so bear in mind that these could be flipped)
Wis: 15
Cha: 12 (I'm generally kind and polite and can easily make friends though I'm not particularly attractive and I can come across as arrogant at times)

Str: 17 (at least)
Once I lifted a really heavy couch by myself helping my friend move. Everyone was like, whoa.

Is this a satire on your part? In D&D a STR of 17 means you can overhead press 260lbs. That is the bar, plus two 45's, a 10, a 5, and a 2 1/2 on each side. More amazingly, but certainly possible is a "deadlift weight of 520lbs. and you would reasonably be able to run sprints while carrying 86lbs, and not lose too much speed.

For me, going by Overhead press, I'm between 14-15, and by "deadlift" (lift weight off ground and stagger as the rulebook says, a 14, and by "light load", a 14 as well (I have to run sprints in full gear and body armor as an adversary, so that's how I know).

They don't give enough points in character creation for my preferred game system (Shadowrun 3rd Edition)...Or rather they do, but there are caps on how many points you can spend on total skill points.

Using D&D 3.5:
Me, in RL
Human Expert 1
Str 12
dex 11
con 12
int 15
wis 11
cha 12
Feats: WF (quarterstaff), skill focus (knowledge [nature])
Max ranks in:
Knowledge (nature), Knowledge (arcana)
half ranks in: swim, Know (history), Know (the planes), craft (legos), Craft (drawing), Survival

Me, as I would be in a Fantasy Setting
Human Wizard 1 Druid 1
Str 12
Dex 11
Con 13
Int 16
Wis 14
Cha 12
FEats: scribe scroll, WF quarterstaff, Improved Toughness
Skills: Survival, Know (nature, arcana, the planes, history), Swim, Craft (drawing)
Animal Companion: Wolf
Familiar: African Grey Parrot
Common spells: Cold spells, protective abjurations, & enhancing transmuations
Eventually, I would become an arcane heirophant.

I'm the sort of person who, if nature magic existed, would take to it like a penguin to water. I love animals and being outdoors, and am a dab hand at using staffs.

Str: 11 (I have really good cardio, but am decently strong)
Dex: 14 (I have good balance, and spend about an hour each day standing on my indo board to become even more balanced. I can move through crowded areas very smoothly, and my throwing aim is decent, strangly enough my reflexes are not very quick)
Con: 11 (I get sick once a year. I can take a lot of phisical pain as long is it is not dealt with a sharp object) I'm extra vulnerable to piercing
Int: 14 (I retain information fairly well and do happen to know quite a bit of stuff. Going to a school filled with nerds kinda does that to you.)
Wis: 16 (This is what I consider to be my strong suit. I have a lot of common sense, and I tend to be good at applying knowledge to solve problems. Furthermore my instincts are almost always right when it's important, although that could just be a bit of paranoia.)
Cha: 10 (This is probably the most difficult one for me. I'm the entertainer, and do well in large groups of people as long as there is one or more person I know, but in one-on-one conversation I think I'm boring and a little self-obsessed (as in I talk about myself a lot. which does not mean that I like myself, cause I don't) As far as looks go, from the information I manage to glean from accidently eavesdropping I do look quite alright.)

Bard Level 2 (or Smart Hero 2)

HP: 11

Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike, Improved Grapple

Skills:

Perform: Oratory - 5 ranks
Perform: Act - 5 ranks
Diplomacy - 2 ranks
Bluff - 5 ranks
Ride - 2 ranks
Escape Artist - 3 ranks
Craft: Writing - 4 ranks
Knowledge: Gaming - 4 ranks
Knowledge: History - 2 ranks
Knowledge: Weaponry - 3 ranks
Knowledge: Technology/Mechanics - 3 ranks
Profession: Projectionist - 2 ranks

That's fairly rough. It represents my knowledge of and proficiency with the martial arts, as well as my very wide and mostly useless range of skills. I'm stronger than I look, but that puts me right about average, and I'm fairly quick. I've been hit more than once over the course of a few "rounds" and stayed standing, hence the relatively high con. According to I.Q. tests I took when I was younger I had a genius level intellect, I think I let most of it go to waste but I'm still a pretty smart guy. I think this sums me up fairly well.
