Looking for a book

Hi guys, i am trying to find a book I read awhile ago, but i am not sure what it was called. It had talking dogs and a sentient neuclear bomb that could be talked to.

If i remember correctly it also had a blue cover.

does anyone remember anything like that?

Talking dogs sounds like Clifford D. Simak's "City", which is basically a collection of short stories (some with talking dogs) rather than a coherent novel. Can't remember any sentient nukes in that one. van Vogt has a short story "Dormant" with a sentient nuke, though.

There is a dog-become-god, Draffut. The demons in the books are nuclear bombs, rendered anthropomorphic incarnations of evil during a magical Change. And the big thing in the setting are twelve over-powered but highly specialized swords.
