I am looking for a suggestion for a serpentine themed race (just has to be snake like in some aspect, doesn't have to be full on snake tail kind of thing) and I am trying to avoid Yaun-Ti pure blood. If I have to I am probably going to try to convert the Naga from OA/Rakugan but I wanted to see if there was any better suggestions before I went that route.

Well, there aren't any current ones - i thought you meant for homebrewing your own non-Yuan Ti PC race.

ah ok, sorry, I was so on my way to bed when I responded yesterday. Makes sense then.

Mechanically you could 're-skin' a Green Dragon Dragonborn as a 'spitting cobra' style serpent man.

Conceptually I have a soft spot for snake headed humanoids.

I really like this suggestion. It wouldn't take too much work and would be easy to balance! Thank you!!!

Alternatively, light foot halfling works well. The Dex due to the snake body, where you can slither across the ground but most of your body is along that rather than standing so you have small size. Charisma for snake eyes. You can easily hide behind larger creatures, as well.

What I went with was the Green Dragon born reskinned with strength switched to Dex and undercommon for the language instead of draconic.

So it was: Dex +2, Cha +1, Acid Breathe Weapon and the protection from acid ability that green db get.

Green dragons are poison, not acid. That's why they work.

Sorry, I meant to write down poison, I was just in a hurry when typing my response and wrote the wrong thing.
