I know of a couple of sites that have fan remakes of many of the King's Quest games, is that what you're looking or? Or more like Final Fantasy?

It's pretty fun, though the free account is a little limited. Fortunately upgrade is a one time fee if you go for it.

Both of those would be fine.

Please, don't say "RPG games". It's like inserting your PIN number into an ATM machine and getting the HIV virus. :smallwink:

And to be on topic, Kingdom of Loathing (http://www2.kingdomofloathing.com/main.html) is the online fantasy game.

Is it? Mine kept telling me the upgrade was per character. Maybe I just misunderstood.

If the getting in-character aspect is what you want, there's also a huge MUDding community that would likely have a game suited to your particular tastes.

Maybe, I haven't done it, so I'm not sure, and I only have the one character anyhow.

As a note I've tried adventurequest loved it for a while until almost everything was guardians only. I made it to level 43 though hehe.

Free online Browser RPGs (http://www.gameogre.com/onlinerpgs.htm)

Free MMOs (http://www.gameogre.com/freemmorpgs.htm) (Most have a client to download but no fees, although a few offer perks to paying customers)

If you're after a free online RPG, give Rubies of Eventide (http://www.eventide.net/home.html) a try. I used to play it quite alot before uni cut the amount of time I had and it's got one of the best communities around.
Combat system takes awhile to get used to but the skills system is one of the most flexible around and the race/class choices are endless. Your race and class just determines how many points you need to learn certain skills so you can have a warrior learn magic or mage learn melee/ranged combat if you really want to.
There's 3 servers available too to cater for different audiences as well - Phoenix (general server) or Fireopals (RP server) are probably the best the best places to get started and learn the basics since pvp is consensual there but if you like pvp, there's also a no rules pvp server (Halberd) where once someone reaches lvl 6, they're fair game for all.
