Just looking for some good side-quest material for the campaign I'm running. Trying to draw the story out some. Any ideas?

You may need to be more specific.

What level is the campaign currently at? And what is the story so far? Do you want random encounters, as listed in the thread title, or side-quests, which you specify in the OP? And in either case, do you want them directly connected to the main storyline, or generally plausible for the region, or with no connection whatsoever?

Sometimes I just peruse Dungeon Magazine for something I can fit in.

Today, I found an adventure that takes place in a wizard's school and I'm going to use big parts of that next week for a mansion my group is going to check out.

The group is around level 6, a couple started later. It's well-rounded, representing the major classes and races of D&D. I am just looking for good filler quests or encounters. They don't have to be directly connected, because the continent we created is pretty massive and just about to break into open war.

They're on a quest to retrieve the fabled Horn of Gygax in hopes of breaking a spell that has taken hold of a normally passive people. The spell has caused them to turn berserk and invade the Eastern Kingdom.

You can also try Donjon's random encounter generator (http://donjon.bin.sh/d20/encounter/) or random adventure generator (http://donjon.bin.sh/fantasy/adventure/).
