Bit of a table debate: When do spells cast with a full round action take effect? At the end of the turn the casting started on or at the end of the round (effectively start of casters next turn)?

Thus far we've been using the first for most spells, but the second for summoning spells (to allow interruption). That seems inconsistent to play, though. Which way is valid?

Spells that take 1 round to cast go off at the start of your next turn
Spells that take a Full Round Action to cast go off at the end of your current turn

yeah, this is correct, there's no debate (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/spellDescriptions.htm#castingTime) to be had here

Heh, I guess we just sort of filtered those as reading the same. This turned out easier than expected...

In addition, when casting a spell with 1 round casting time, you are considered to be "still casting" until the start of your next turn. This means that any damage you take or other actions you take before then can disrupt the spell and make it fizzle.

That point in particular we were aware of, yeah. Prevented more housefires that way than I can recount.
