The end of summer brings with it the winds of change, and the lazy late summer days gone, so begins the return to the endless studies of academia.

As the auspicious (or inauspicious, depending on how you view education) days of the start of term begin, you find yourselves, for one reason or another, in the Student Union. This massive building houses one of the many eateries, as well as a massive computer lab, and the general bookstore. There are several meeting rooms, and a conference hall, and today, it is the focus of Freshman orienteering. Here, new students are given their room assignments, and every half hour, a volunteer from the student government helps a small group of freshmen find their dormitories and gives a brief tour of some of the main halls where their classes will be.

As you go about your business, there appears to be some kind of commotion outside, though not all of you are in a position to see what it is.

Uniform advantages: No.

Opposed Luck, top two rolls gain 2 VP.

Anna had headphones in and so was barely aware that a commotion happened. She was listening to metal it wasn't her favorite but someone stole her favorite music. That person was going to pay for what they did as soon as she found him. So she went about her business. I think I'll get some pizza. Thinking a supreme pizza with no mushrooms. Thank god I have enough scholarships to be here with any food i want to eat the others didn't have a chance and I'm sure they regretted ever applying for them.

When whatever was going on outside began, Victor was simply sitting in the lounge with some of his friends, chatting about the events of summer. A quick message to the group chat from Joe however gets everyone's attention.

Hey everyone, you might want to come outside...

Some more specificity would have been nice, but the small group of friends head outside to see what Joe was talking about. It's too early in the year for any sort of event, which ruled out most things. Was it something bad? Victor tells one of the others to shoot a message back and to keep an eye on their stuff while the rest of them went to check things out.

"Excuse me, pardon me," Victor says, waving a few of his fellow students out of the way. It was the worst kept secret that the Declan family had made a major donation to the university (even by Harvard standards) that had funded additional equipment and faculty for several of the departments, and while Victor tried to not revel in his family's ability to make life easier, he certainly wasn't above using said influence and name to... encourage a desirable outcome.

As the grouping of people becomes more clustered and harder for everyone to move past, Victor gives up on finding Joe in the crowd. Instead, he looks around for someone who had a better sense of what was going on, maybe campus police, or an RA, or a residence life worker. "What's all the commotion about?"

Why am I doing this. Why am I doing this. Why am I doing this.

Even though summer was nigh-over and the temperature in the air had cooled significantly, Zack was still sweating. Freshman orientation was in full swing here at the university, and for whatever bone-headed reason he'd volunteered to work in the information kiosk, passing out pamphlets and answering trivia questions to confused freshmen. Which meant sitting in the middle of a big crowd and smiling continuously until his face hurt and answering a lot of questions that terrified him because he just knew that sooner or later one was going to come up that he wouldn't have the answer for and gaaaaaahhhhh.

"When does the next tour group leave?" "Sh-should be in the next ten minutes or so, sir."

"Could you point me to the dorms?" "The way's a little complicated, but, um, here's a map. Er, take two, we have plenty."

"Excuse me, could you tell me what's going on outside?" "What do you mean?"

Jenny was never one for staying still, especially during such a commotion.

"Huh? Hey, what happened?"

Suddenly, a random thought passed through her mind.

What are the odds of that... then again, it can't hurt.

Walking through the parking lot, with the metal music I her ears, she didn't hear the van, even though it was backfiring and sputtering and then it stalled out as it managed to stop in a parking spot. As the engine died, it let out one more mighty bang, and smoke poured from the engine, which was probably now dead. Not able to see anything through the smoke, you hear the door squeal as it opened, and you hear the metal groan as it was shut with more than just a little force. As the smoke begins to clear, you can just make out the outline of someone in the smoke, and then fanning hands blow away enough smoke to get a glimpse of a girl trying to find the release for the engine compartment in the rear of the van.

Susan had been working in the Computer Lab when she was alerted to several loud noises outside. Hoping that no one was hurt, she rushed to the scene to see what had happened and if she had the capacity to help.

Een though she didn't know what was going on, Susan arrived before a massive crowd poured out of the union. Apparently a vehicle had broken down, because a large gout of black smoke was pouring up into the sky. As you hurry to the scene, you arrive in time to see a young woman tring to wave smoke away from the rear of the van, and another girl is standing nearby.

There are a lot of great series where the protagonist just appears out of nowhere on a clear, cloudless day.

Today is one of those days.

As smoke begins to clear from the rear of a broken down old VW van, you see a red-headed girl, wearing a faded old Batman T-shirt, what appears to be military combat uniform jacket tied around her waist, sporting jeans and genuine combat boots. The boots are untied, hanging open, and to complete her look, you see the trailing edge of what looks like a tattoo on her upper arm. And the way the smoke just parted, perfectly circular to give you this view? It can't be simple coincidence.

As Lissa tried to look at what the commotion was, her "aide" stood between her and the commotion in general.

Try as he might, Lissa's guard couldn't keep her from finding out what was going on, though, he did push her to the side when what sounded like three short barks of a gun went off. But the chatter came through the crowd. Just a van breaking down. Nothing that exciting.

With the full respect a man in his position gives his charge, the guard reaches a hand down to help Lissa back to her feet, expressing his concern for her well being. After all, the backfire may have been planned, and he checked to make sure she really was alright. Over his shoulder, Lissa could see a column of smoke, marking the spot where the "exploded van" was.

With the massive press of students around him, as well as one frantic looking sales clerk, Victor was not able to make much headway.

As you get up to go see for yourself, it looks like people are starting to come inside. Some of them are muttering about damage to the environment, and how that unsightly heap looks next to all the sparkling BMWs and Audis.

And then, outside the large glass entryway, above the heads of everyone, you can see the small plume of smoke. Ostensibly, the vehicle damaging the environment.

Of course. Lissa replied with a small curtsy. Lead the way. She directed.

You make your way across campus. All around, other students are unloading furniture from cars and trucks. Bags and mini fridges are being hauled up into dorms. Your escort guides you through the chaos, and brings you to your new home away from home. You find that many of your things have already been brought in, and await you to arrange them to your satisfaction. There is, so far, no sign of a roommate.

Jenny blinked.

She is talking to three other girls, about the state of her van, and emphatically denying any attempts at getting her van towed somewhere to have it fixed because as she says as you approach, I can do it myself.

By the time he'd broken through the crowd, there was already a small group of girls (and one guy) clustered around a backfiring van and the redheaded girl who seemed to be the owner. In the corner of his eye, he saw the red-headed girl getting onto the back of the line. Zack found himself hoping the people before her didn't have any big requests.

She thinks he's... pretty? While he'd rather a different descriptor, it was a positive sentiment at least. "Well it was something like ten years ago," Victor said. Nine years, to be specific.

It is a pleasure to meet you miss Yuki, I'm Lissa. Do you need help setting up? She offers returning the bow flawlessly.

"Oh, no! Please, I am fine! I have just a few things, I did not bring much form home, knowing what I needed I would be able to find when I arrived. Please, I will not burden you with aiding me."

"Erm. Sure. Come right this way." Zack slowed his pace, allowing the red-headed girl to catch up, along with the throng of people that were apparently following her around. He wasn't exactly sure what that was about, but they were all trying to get her attention.

They didn't. Well, not really huge requests. One of the girls in line expressed sentiments of hoping to share classes with you, but in short order, Jessica is at the front of the line, a small smile on her face. See? Told you it would be easy to find you again.

She thinks he's... pretty? While he'd rather a different descriptor, it was a positive sentiment at least. "Well it was something like ten years ago," Victor said. Nine years, to be specific.

Oh! Oh. Look. I am sure you mean well, but listen. What I did, I did 'cause it was the right thing to do. I'm not a charity case, and I tried real hard to not dwell on it, alright? Now, if you want, you can go on remembering me for who I was back then, or you can realize that the girl you thought you knew was just an illusion, a falsehood based on what I am.

Crap. Crap, CRAP! Of all the places to run into someone who knows me... And worse, probably remembers what I am... Just play it cool.

And think about who this guy is. You'd think something that pretty would've stuck out.

It probably didn't because you were, I don't know TEN!!!

Yeah, that probably would have done it, I suppose.

Orientation goes on, and the various activities lead freshmen all over the campus.

As the day goes on, whispers and rumor spread as they always do, and soon enough, comes rumors about the smoking van in the student union parking lot.

And the rumors vary widely. From a stranded hippie commune, to a failed terrorist attack, you hear all sorts of rumor about "that van in the parking lot."

But you put them from your mind as you make sure you know where you are going to go tomorrow.

And so, checking over your schedule, you see that you have a class in the engineering building, a required course for nearly every program, Computer Science 107, Advanced Computer Skills. Looking at your course catalog, the class apparently focuses more on programs and alternative methods of accomplishing many tasks in more efficient ways. Finding the class should be an easy feat, and so you head off to find the right place. When you arrive, you spy a familiar redheaded girl tinkering with some of the computers, and decide that now would be a good time to try and make a better impression!

This roll is Unopposed. Make a good Impression on Jessica!

The fact that they were shaking from fear as much as any affection on their part went over her head.

So it was of course necessary to show up in her fitted training uniform in case someone got the wrong idea.

Victor heads into class, waving at a couple of his friends that decided to take the class alongside him. Hm... he had some passing familiarity with programming, though more with spreadsheets than the coding languages themselves. Still, might be good to get to know what was going on before class began, and get in the professor's good graces. Jessie might be still annoyed with him, and it seemed that several people were all going to gun for her attention aggressively. Better to give her space. Actually... "Hey Mike, mind sitting next to Jessica and making sure she is unbothered? She seems kind of occupied and I want to make sure people give her space if she wants it. Don't be super overt or anything."

While that goes on, he heads to the front of the class a few minutes before it starts, and greets the professor. "Good afternoon, professor. I was just curious what coding languages we would be working with predominantly in here. I know in an engineering class we would use MatLab a lot, but for most of us that would be rather pointless. Would it then be C, or Java? Or a family friend mentioned using BASIC at his job. I'd just like to know what the actual purpose for this class is, since many of the people here will only use it to fill a general requisite."

"Erm. Hello. Remember me?" He said somewhat nervously, settling into the seat opposite Anna on Jessie's other side. "Can I ask what you're working on? One of the somebodys near you happens to be a particularly good looking redheaded girl. At your offer of food, she spares a moment from what she is doing to give you a look over the top of her monitor. You know it isn't a good idea to have food like that near a lot of computers like this, right?

The 'teacher' is actually just an RA, a CompSci grad student working on a Master's degree. "You evidently didn't read the course description, did you? This isn't a programming class, dude. Whether intentional or not, the act was immediately followed by fifteen groans, sixteen snorts, one person trying very hard to not sound like some upstart Yank calling the Queen in the middle of the night, and one redhead to start laughing.

That, Jessica says. Was awesome.

Thanks. I mean, I already fixed one of the bugs. But I didn't know of the other. Probably be easier to just go in and trash the registry sector for the bad file. If the computer can't read the sector, it'll spit the error into the report and carry on, you know?

As you are passing Jessica, you see her putting her things away. As you watch, you see into her bag just enough to spot a blue folder. The folder has the words "Federal Bureau of Investigation" printed on it.

Jenny bounces out of her seat as soon as the bell rings, partly by reflex and partly because she was so embarassed by what she'd done. As such, she failed to notice anything out of ordinary about Jessica's stuff.

Failed the Luck check in the OOC thread.

You are in such a hurry to leave that you don't realize it right away, but you seem to have grabbed Jessica's hat.

"I intend to pay people to deal with those problems, for most part," he says dismissively.

As class lets out, Victor catches back up to Mike. "So what have you got next?" he asks. Mike was a new addition to the group, but got pulled in pretty quickly to the crew of friends that had formed in the lounges freshmen year.

As the bell rings I set my backpack on the ground and
Power on my computer. I look around while the familiar whirring of the computer happens.

For some reason, a chill went down Zack's spine as he read those words. He was seeing things, right? He misread stuff all the time. No way the new girl who came out of nowhere and is somewhat standoffish and... wait a minute.

He turned away hurriedly before Jessie saw him snooping. His gaze immediately fell on a mousey, bespectacled girl he swore he'd seen earlier that day, just as she tore her gaze away from Jessie's general direction. The way she'd just moved was unmistakable, or at least Zack hoped it was. Locking eyes with Susan, he mouthed "You saw it too?"

The rest of the day passes rather uneventfully, and you get a feel for just how dismal college life will be for the next year. You don't even see Jessie for the rest of the day.

But of course, some won't allow their college experience to be dull and mindless, so shortly after lunch, there seemed to be a copy of the same poster on every bulletin board, coffee shop door, and dorm entrance. The flyer is on neon blue paper, with a wild font to match.

"Start of Term Par-Tay! Soldiers Field! To-nite! Be there! ΔΡΕ"

Some people laugh, dismissing the idea of partying so early in the year. They hadn't even settled in yet. Some take the flyers, some just take a picture. A couple of students are so busy that they don't even notice the flyers. As you arrive back in your dorm at the end of the day, you notice that Jessie's door has been plastered with the things, and you wonder if some overt attempt at getting the girl to show up is in effect. Those of you who live off campus, get a picture of Jessie's door, as she is pushing it open.

Perhaps now would be a good time to try to socialize with her?

It's not hard to deduce where Jessie will be for the party, or rather, it doesn't actually matter: Victor is the host, after all. It's only fair that he be one of the people greeting those who arrive (and keep an eye out for those that would otherwise crash a perfectly innocuous gathering of students).

Returning to her dorm room, she sat down and took out her phone deigning that she would go if she could convince someone else she knew to go with her. The sensation that he'd made a mistake immediately started creeping up Zack's spine as he walked onto Soldier's Field. He wasn't good with people, and despite the laughs and jeers at the fliers earlier in the day a lot of people had turned up anyway. Most of them were clearly freshmen scouting out upperclassmen or brown-nosing for early popularity points, and the place was swarming with them. He tried looking for Susan or Jenny, but if either of them were here they were blocked by the crowd. Momentarily defeated, Zack squeezed through the crowd over to the snack table in an attempt to clear his head- except just as he'd reached it someone's elbow crashed, hard, into his back, sending him toppling forward towards the unfortunately-placed array of chips and soda bottles.

The young man smiles, gaze lingering on his old friend for a little before looking back at the party. "Things are just starting to pick up now. No. I don't mind. Lissa says shaking her head while smiling as she extends a hand.

Lissa, and this is my roommate Yuki. She says indicting her.

OH, so you two aren't...? Her finger gesture fills in the end of her question. Together?

Victor chuckles and takes a drink. "I mean, you did kind of make yourself well known, accidental or otherwise. Just revel in it for a while, use it as a way to meet people, make some friends." The young man smiles, gaze lingering on his old friend for a little before looking back at the party. "Things are just starting to pick up now. It's so annoying with parties, you have to tell people to show up an hour earlier than you intend for it to start. We have some food and water right over there, most of the dancing is further in. If you're 21," he says, not even hiding a sarcastic smirk, "there are drinks besides water further back."

Well, just let me know if the cops show up.

"Sure. Mind getting me your number?" he asks, offering his phone, new contact screen pulled up.

Before Jessie takes Victor's phone, she pulls out her own phone. It appears to be one of those cheap prepaid phones you can get just about anywhere for fifteen or twenty bucks. She presses a couple buttons, and then takes the proffered phone, and copies a number into it. Then she hands Victor back his phone, before replacing hers into her jeans pocket.

Yeah, sounds fun. Lissa chirped.

Well, in that case... Let's go see what this party has in store for us.

Toward where Victor had pointed Jessie, there seems to be a frat doing a little early initiation (AKA hazing freshmen.). As Jessie and Lissa approach them, one of the frat boys notices the group of girls, and nudges his brothers with his elbows and pointing you out. Soon enough, there is a large group of guys around you, offering you drinks and asking if you want to have a good night. There is even a catcall, apparently, according to a loudmouth in the crowd, just for effect.

She takes the cup from the outstretched hand, but then she stumbles as she starts to turn, and the cup ends up smashing against the frat boy's head as Jessie catches herself. The beer spills out, drenching the guy's face and causing him to cry out.

Jessie instead, starts heading off on her own. Not long after the small group leaves the beer soaked frat guy, Susan and Zack arrive to hear him muttering about how he would 'get that b**** back for that."

With drink finally in hand, Jessie stops and takes a look around at the scene. All around, people are gathered together in groups, each with some different kind of goal in mind. A couple seem to be interested in dancing, some are engrossed in conversation, one of the groups seems to be cheering something happening in the center, but what it is can't be made out from here. And while Jessie seems content to perch on a large rock in the park, now is probably the time to try and engage her in some kind of activity.

Not what he said at all, really, but okay. "Yeah, 'act'," Victor says with a chuckle and another drink. "Don't be stupid. She doesn't seem to have the patience for someone dim. Just don't look like you know too much about her. Or that you're asking your friend for advice because you don't know the first thing to say and he happens to have met her before."

"Alright. I'll keep it in mind. But if you don't mind me asking, why you helping get with her? You two exes or something?"

Well I wouldn't necessarily know most of the people there. Lissa hastened to clarify.

Yuki tilts her head in confusion. "If you do not know them, why inviting them?"

"Thanks. No prob."

Mandy tosses Jenny a drink, one of those flavored sports waters. "Care to join us? We're talking about the World Cup, and I would love to have another reasonable voice on my side."

Victor gives Mike a rather confused look. "Because we're friends? As for her, we were in, like, fifth or sixth grade when we met. She's just an old friend. No baggage there." At this point, while Victor isn't exactly lying, he does still look bothered, like a person who really doesn't want to do the right thing.

As Susan panicked, Zack took a big inhale, then a big exhale. In that moment, all of Zack's fears and doubts melted away- ninety seconds of insane courage, like that zoo movie once said. Then he grabbed Susan's hand and gave it a warm but firm squeeze. He had a plan, or at least the semblance of one. "Don't panic," he said, voice for once not shaking, "I think I have an idea. Just trust me!" Then he was leading her through the crowd, making a beeline for where he'd last seen Jessie.

A loner like Zack tended to pick up on all the little details others missed- he knew there was a hole in the fence of the football field on the opposite side, big enough to squeeze through. If he and Susan could just find Jessie they could pull her through there, and maybe, just maybe, get a little closer to solving this mystery.

Not able to find Jessie, you decide that it is probably time to display the better part of Valor and hightail it out of the party, pulling Susan along with you. "Look, kid, your campus is on the other side of the street, so as I see it, you got two options," the officer says, ticking off his first finger. "Option One you walk it off, go to bed, wake up tomorrow with a hangover. We already got some sanitation workers coming down to get rid of everything, so you don't even have to worry about the environment. And, to top it all off, you don't get anything on your record."

He ticks off another finger. "Option Two, you go for a ride with me, but as I said, I'm not a taxi service. I'll be taking you downtown. You'll be able to get nice and cozy in the tank with all the other drunks who are a lot worse off than you. Then, I'll also be charging with drunk and disorderly, as well as facilitating minors. You also, admitted to be willing to drive home drunk, so there will be a public endangerment charge.... Not to mention disturbing the peace, and probably a couple of other things I will remember on the way to the station house. That's serious jail time you'll be looking at."

He leans in to Victor so he can lower his voice a bit. "And on top of that, the judge who will be at arraignment won't be back till Monday, so you're looking at an entire weekend in a cell. At least. And after that, well, schools don't like to have students on campus who have rap sheets. Not to mention the shame you'll be bringing onto your family, and to yourself..."

What? No, it can't be done yet. The girl gets up and goes over to her desk, which has a computer sitting open on one end, complete with cables running out of the case and cards tilted at odd angles. On the other end, an incredible looking high power rig sits.

The nothing really seems to have a stronger effect on Lissa then it does on normal people.

No problem. Lissa says warmly. I hope Yuki got out okay. She muses a single finger to her lips as she looks at the ceiling.

Jessie takes a drink, then smiles a bit mischeviously. You seem awfully attached to her for some reason. You sure she isn't your girlfriend?

"No. No way. You don't come out and just ask someone that. You ask them out, and when they shoot you down, you just assume. That's how it works."

You get the feeling there is more to this than she is letting on.

Zack was breathing pretty hard by the time he and Susan had gotten over the fence- physical activity like that wasn't exactly his forte. And they hadn't managed to find Jessie either; not even a trace of where she'd gone.

Then, suddenly, he started laughing. "Oh my god. Oh my god what did I just do today.
A girl in my computers class is probably a criminal. I went to a frat party. I ran from the police! I met... I met..." His gaze fell squarely on Susan, face bright red in the distant lights of civilization.

Probably nothing. But let's see...

Jessie scrolls through the channels, and you see a few sci-fi shows, police procedurals, a sappy romance movie, an anime series, and a few other random shows.

See anything you like?

After keeping pace with Zack the entire run, Susan was exhausted and it showed. She was doubled over with both hands on her knees trying to catch her breath, but when Zack started laughing, she couldn't help but follow suit. It was a strange sound, loud, genuine laughter interspersed with desperate gasps for air but she couldn't stop. She was awash with relief, they had escaped the party and the cops, not to mention that Zack had helped her escape. As Zack talked, she managed to pull herself together enough to respond. "Yeah that was-ha ha ha-that was pretty insane. I, I can't believe we actually ran from the, the cops and I... I couldn't have done it with-without you... thanks."

"Y-yeah. Same here." Zack straightened, some of the color starting to flow out of his face. Across the fence on the field, the party was starting to disperse, the uproar quieting down. "So... wh-where should we go now? The um, night's still young."

The next day brings on with it the consequences of the night before. All across the campus, some are waking up with strange aches, some with strange pains, and yet others with strange bedfellows. And, if you would believe the rumor, one of the star football players was found in bed with another guy.

ANd then there are the not so strange aches and pains, such as the time honored tradition of the hangover.

But regardless of what you find in your bed when you awake, it is sadly Jessie-less. Actually, it is anyone-less. You all wake up alone, and decide, early in your morning routine, to change that, and go for some kind of activity on this beautiful Saturday. The sun is shining, the air holds that rare Autumn crispness that makes it just chilly enough to need a jacket, but still warm enough to dare you to go without it.

You are all just heading off campus when you spy a familiar looking redhead, who seems to be off for some activities of her own. Which makes this the perfect time to get to know her better. But how to do it?

Unopposed roll!

Allure D8: Accompany Jessie on a morning stroll around historic Boston. +3 VP.
Skill D8: Give Jessie a guided tour of some of Boston's famous historical landmarks. +3 VP.
Luck D10: Surprise! Its the Street View car! Pose with Jessie (or perhaps something a bit bolder?)! +4 VP.

Hey, that's Jessie! Maybe I could show her around! Jenny thought. Jessie probably didn't know about the area yet, so this looked like a good chance to.

Is using Hypercharged to make both the Skill and the Allure rolls allowed at a -2 penalty each? They seem compatible.

If allowed, Jenny's strong roll is Skill, so +1 to that, as well as the +2 from Morning Person. (Skill -1, Allure +0)

If not, Allure roll only. Early morning, right? +2 to Allure rolls, then, from Morning Person.. (Allure +2)

Victor, to his credit, is not exactly hungover the next morning. Less to his credit, the vomiting of the previous night is likely to thank for that. Well, that was a dud of a night. No chance to hang out with Jessie, no time to meet a girl for the evening, not even anybody new met since the cops busted things early. The young man lies in bed for a couple minutes, mentally replaying the night for lessons learned and to keep his memory sharp.

Alright! Up and at 'em! Victor takes his time in the morning, since everyone else will be, too, eventually being shouted out of the shower by a very embarrassed looking football player, if he recognized the guy correctly. Wonder what his deal was...

-Hey all, anyone who is up for a walk around town, meet out front of the dorms at 11:30! Bring a freshman or two if you know them, this will kind of be our unofficial orientation for the newbies to our group.-

As some of Victor's posse of friends make their way out, he waves down Jessica. "Hey, Jessie! Some of us are heading into town for a little tour of the area, show the freshmen around. Wanna join?"

Zack woke up the next morning, perfectly fine, in all actuality. Nobody had tried to kill him in his sleep for finding out Jessie's connection to the FBI, at least. A rush of memories came swiftly in accordance with that- the party, running from the police, getting late-night pizza with Susan. Good times. Nice girl. Nice...

He shook off that thought before it went any further, and was out the door not long after, grateful for a nice autumn day without any morning classes. Zack was running a blank on ways to spend the morning when he caught site of Susan approaching from an adjoining path. Breaking into a jog, he called out, "H-hey Susan, hi, hello, hi, good morning! I, um, wanted to do a piece on Boston's, um, local landmarks for the p-paper? Do... do you want to come with me? You could... you c-could be my photographer!"

Unbeknownst to Zack, there's a certain redhead not quite out of earshot.

Strong skill.

+2 bonus from Head Author (writing an article), +2 bonus from Keen Eye (doing research for that article). +5 overall.

Stat sheet from the OOC is still not up to date. I should definitely have some VP, but in the (unlikely) event that I don't, I can apply another +2 from Quiet Patience for an overall +7.

Lissa for her part had spent most of the night after Jessie getting lectured by Yuki about how she, Lissa needed to be bolder. Yuki wanted proof one way or another about Jessie being a harem protagonist.

So Lisa was told to be bolder. And when the friend of her father saw Lissa with Jessie, all he saw was his friend's dearly loved daughter, who would totally love for her picture to be taken.

Hey, Anthony how are things? Lissa chirped out cheerfully.

As Anthony prepared to take her picture. Yuki's words about the pervert characters in anime came to mind. How if Jessie was a protagonist the worst she would do is slap Lissa, if Lissa groped her right here and now.

But.... Lissa couldn't. If there was the slightest chance Jessie wasn't a protagonist, if Jessie didn't want her to... She couldn't just reach up and grab her.

But.... apparently what she could do, while considering all of this, was blatantly ogle Jessie's bust as the picture was snapped.

Sure. I guess. She almost seems hesitant to join you, but whether that is because of your history or not is unclear. A couple of the guys in the group let out wolf whistles when they see a girl in a fairly low cut tank top joining the group, but they get cut off mid whistle, probably by girlfriends.

So, where we going?

As Anthony was stopped and running the camera for a panorama of the intersection, he rolled his window down and started talking with Lissa. "'Ey, girlie. Your dad wanted me to check on you later, s-" Whatever he was going to say got interrupted as Jessie bent over to retrieve her MP3 player, which had just taken a tumble to the ground. Anthony doesn't notice Lissa staring because he was too busy enjoying his view.

When everyone straightens back up, Anthony motions Lissa over. "So," he whispers. "You'll probably want to check on this intersection in a couple weeks when the next update goes through."

The light changes, and as Anthony starts to accelerate, he leans out the window again. "Oh, and your dad said your allowance will be ready tonight. He asks you to not go overboard with it!"

There is a massive crowd of students that seem to be going on some kind of tour, and you see Jessie join it. So, in an effort to get close to her, you try to push through them to get close to Jessie, but you get mired somewhere in the middle. There is quite a bit of jostling, and more than one freshman who's never been to Boston before shoot their arms out to point to landmarks and buildings they recognize.

Zack woke up the next morning, perfectly fine, in all actuality. Nobody had tried to kill him in his sleep for finding out Jessie's connection to the FBI, at least. Jessie is close enough that you are sure she heard you, but since she wasn't directly addressed, she doesn't turn to talk to you. You see her a few times, she seems to be talking with a couple people but doesn't seem to spare any mind for anyone else around her. But as you stop at an intersection, one of those camera car things for street view maps stops and talks to one of the obviously rich girls at the front of the crowd. And then suddenly, Jessie's MP3 player falls from her pocket, drawing your attention to the scene at the front of the crowd.

No VP for this one, but you can attempt a D6 Skill roll for information that may or may not be relevant to what is going on. This is journalism related, so some modifiers will be able to be applied to the roll.

You are walking along next to Zack as he takes his photos next to Zack. As the shutter clicks over and over, you start to feel a little stir crazy. But when you are stopped at an extremely long signal, you see Zack starting to pay more attention to what is going on at the front of the crowd.
