Hey guys! So, being a DM can be, let's say "unpredictable". You can have so much stuff prepared but sometimes your players just take you in such a weird direction, you get stumped. Well let's try to keep our guards up shall we? I'll post some stuff to help you in a pinch, and I'll update it with more if I find. Add to the list if you like.

First off, I want to mention fantasy grounds. You can pay a subscription or buy it outright for a much larger price, but add ons and such. I bought the ultimate version outright and got the core books for 5e, volo's guide, elemental evil players companion all for 522$ Canadian. Yes, that's expensive as all hell, BUT I had my players split the cost with me. So it was significantly more affordable. Less than if you bought a new video game. It has random tables and generators and you can do up your own random tables easy. You can easily organize all of your notes and stuff by putting pins on everything. And if you're short for computers, you could technically run it with one computer and 2 monitors. You also don't need to buy the addon stuff, as if you have the books, you could enter it in manually all the same, cutting your costs for more effort.

Donjon.bin.sh has loads of stuff to make a world in a pinch.

Hardcodex.ru has spell lists done up like the GF9 spell book cards so access is easier.

http://npcgenerator.azurewebsites.net is a good place for coming up with an NPC on the fly.

http://tools.goblinist.com/5enc has a pretty good encounter generator. And they're working on a map generator, just remove the /5enc from the link.

http://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/character-descriptions.php#.WQaS6196XCQ has loads of generators for descriptions and quotes and stuff

Gozzys.com has some decent encounter map generators and such.

And there's also a program I've gotten called Autorealm. While it's not a random generator, it does make for easy map making.

http://whothe****ismydndcharacter.com has an interesting way to think up a character

Stonesword.com
And
http://www.dwarvenforge.com/mapmaker/ Are both browser based map makers using painted tiles

http://kobold.club/fight/#/encounter-builder
Is another good encounter builder

Here's a tool that I use for creating indoor encounter areas. It's pretty decent

Kobold Fight Club (http://kobold.club/fight/#/encounter-builder) takes the math out of encounter building and is a beautiful beautiful tool.

I'm also fond of the Donjon (https://donjon.bin.sh) brand of random generators and resources.
